Malaysian authorities declare plane lost at sea

Breaking-News-1After all this time of waiting and hoping against hope, Malaysian authorities now say the airliner was lost at sea.  Using satellite tracking, it has been determined “beyond a reasonable doubt” that Flight 370 ended its flight in the southern Indian Ocean and is lost.

The airline notified the survivors of the passengers and crew just before the prime minister made his announcement.  The satellite tracking shows the jet going down in the same area where debris has been spotted.

Malaysia Airlines have already spoken to the families of the passengers and crew to inform them of this development. For them, the past few weeks have been heartbreaking; I know this news must be harder still. I urge the media to respect their privacy, and to allow them the space they need at this difficult time.
