This weekend, I spoke at the South Carolina Tea Party Coalition Convention in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, with a star-studded line up of some of the greatest speakers in conservative media. But many of you would not know it because nobody in the so-called mainstream media bothered to cover it.
That’s right. No one from ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN or MSNBC showed up. Fox News, for all it’s talk of being “fair and balanced,” didn’t bother to appear. The Charleston Post Courier and a local Myrtle Beach TV station were the only media outlets that covered it. Even Breitbart, who in past years live streamed the entire event, did not participate. Why?
(Editor’s note: Trevor Loudon informed us that a British socialist brought the BBC to the convention, but we don’t know how much they actually covered.)
This convention, which has hosted speakers in past years like President Trump, Ted Cruz, Ben Carson, Newt Gingrich, Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum, Rick Perry, and many others is one of the largest yearly gatherings of conservative media figures and yet the media decided to ignore it. This year’s line up included myself, Corey Lewandowski, Thomas Fitton, Trevor Loudon, The Politichicks, Daniel Greenfield, Kevin Jackson, Evan Sayet, Bill Mitchell, Donna Fiducia, Claire Lopez, Gordon Chang, Pastor Mark Burns, John Guandolo, and many more. These were all well known and well respected speakers with honesty and integrity.
This is the state of our “news” media in 2018. A gathering of the brightest minds in conservative media speaking about freedom, liberty, prosperity, national security and making this Country a better place for ourselves, our children, and future generations and yet no one cares?
I bet if this was an anti-Trump, anti-God, anti-Christian, pro-abortion, pro-LGBTQ convention, every single media station in America, Canada, Europe, and the world would be covering it non-stop.
This important Convention needed more coverage, but the underlying question remains: Where was the media?
Here’s video of my comments at the convention:
As an aside, leading conservatives filmmaker Trevor Loudon and Vice President, US First Defense Coalition Greg Cummings with Pastor Mark Burns confronted British Fabian Socialist leader Ed Balls at the convention:
