Los Angeles Middle School – Girl, 12, Shoots Two Classmates
A 12 year old female student allegedly shot two 15 year old classmates at the Salvador Castro Middle School in the Westlake area of Los Angeles on Thursday morning. One is in critical condition and the other was shot in the wrist. Three others have minor injuries from broken glass. Both the Middle School and Belmont High School that shares its campus were immediately locked down. The girl is in custody and the weapon has been recovered.

The girl is said to have opened fire during 1st period in the 6th grade classroom at around 9 a.m. Thursday morning. Her motive, and how she accessed the weapon, are at this point unanswered questions.
