LA Mayor Karen Bass (heavy on the Karen part) signed an Executive Order granting cash card payments to illegals affected by ICE raids and banning any local law enforcement from assisting Federal officials. Why? Because the ‘undocumented’ migrants might be afraid to go to work for fear of being deported and have lost income. Meanwhile, the hundreds of families affected by the wildfires lost their homes and STILL have not been granted permits to rebuild.
“The mayor said that the cash assistance would provide “cash assistance” to families whose members, she claimed, could not go to work for fear of being arrested and deported, or who had otherwise lost income.” Breitbart
Cash cards were issued during Covid as well. But there are some other folks who have lost everything: the wildfire victims. California priorities are backwards.

“It’s been six months since the Eaton and Palisades fires ripped through Altadena and Pacific Palisades. Since then, unincorporated Los Angeles County has received 1,207 rebuild applications, but only 90 permits have been issued. The Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety reported receiving rebuilding applications for 360 addresses affected by the Palisades Fire. Of those, 70 addresses have received permits.
“If you look at what the county and city have done together, it’s still a tiny fraction of the total number of homes that were lost,” said Richard Green, Director of USC’s Lusk Center for Real Estate.
“The permitting process in Los Angeles, even a fast-tracked is complicated by American standards,” Green said. “The median time to get a permit in Dallas is eight days.”
Meanwhile, according to LA County, the average length of time it took to get one of the 90 rebuilding permits issued was 51 days.” July 8 –NBC Los Angeles
Did the LA Mayor lie to President Trump after the fires when she said they’d “fast track permits?”

Prioritizing illegal aliens over Americans
Fast forward to July13, and LA Mayor Bass issued a new Executive Order to pay cash cards to illegal immigrants because of the ICE raids. California’s priorities do not include its citizens.
The City of Los Angeles faces a $1Billion deficit. LA Mayor Bass cited CHIRLA, a radical left-wing organization that is already receiving millions of dollars in taxpayer money – even though they have been at the forefront of riots and protests. She also cited several other left-wing groups that are “helping” with the cost of the EO.
California is a total mess. Gov Newsom signed an Executive Order to “fast track” permits for rebuilding schools. If it goes as fast as the permits for rebuilding homes, students will have to meet in tents in a parking lot somewhere.
