Earlier this month, we reported that a young 11-year-old boy named Connor helped start a fire to protest the Deploraball, telling Fox reporter Griff Jenkins he did it because of Donald Trump, has been identified as the son of actor Drew Carey, TMZ reported.

According to TMZ:

News footage of the boy went viral after the inauguration eve protest in Washington D.C. — and we’ve confirmed it was 11-year-old Connor behind one of the night’s most memorable moments.

A source close to Drew tells us Connor got caught up in the emotions of the crowd around him, and he was in hot water afterward. We’re told Drew and Connor’s mom were upset about how he expressed himself to the reporter, and talked to him about his language.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Connor, TMZ said, reportedly “regretted his choice of words” after speaking with his parents.

TMZ added:

Our own photog ran into Drew that night at the rally, and it was clear he had no idea Connor was in the heat of the action.

For those who may have forgotten, here’s video of what Connor said:

When asked by Jenkins why he started it, Connor said, “Because I felt like it and I’m just saying, ‘screw our president.'”

One TMZ reader correctly observed: “Children who speak in this manner usually hear this language in their home.”

Some wondered where Carey was while his son was starting the fire.

According to Fox News:

Drew Carey participated in the inauguration in a very different way from his son. The 58-year-old emceed the Veterans Inaugural Ball: Salute to Heroes hosted by The American Legion on Jan. 20.

The “Price is Right” host did not seem to be aware of his son’s participation in the protest that night. TMZ caught up with him and he told the gossip site he was “just having dinner with my kid down the street” and wanted to see the protest.
