Keith Olbermann: Impeach, indict, imprison Trump; ‘Erase his name’ for Independence Day speech

Falsely claiming that President Trump attacked free speech in his Independence Day speech, Trump-hater extraordinaire Keith Olbermann demanded the president be impeached, indicted and imprisoned in an unhinged tweet issued on Saturday.  He also demanded Trump’s name be erased, but didn’t specify from what.

“So has just attacked freedom of speech in an Independence Day speech. Impeach him, indict him, imprison him, erase his name,” he said.

The tweet was apparently in response to another short message by the New York Times’ Maggie Haberman, who falsely claimed Trump attacked the First Amendment in his speech declaring that the media’s agenda is not the people’s agenda.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

“POTUS used July 4 vets event to attack the press/first amendment: “The fact is the press destroyed themselves because they went too far,” she wrote.

What Haberman missed is that Trump is right — the media has gone too far with its over-the-top attacks on Trump, his family and his supporters.  Thanks to non-stop hate from the biased media, a crazed supporter of Bernie Sanders tried to murder Republicans and severely wounded Rep. Steve Scalise, R-La.

Olbermann also demanded the cabinet and Vice President Pence use the 25th Amendment to oust Trump after the president tweeted a short video showing him body-slamming and punching a character with “CNN” over his face.

“The @vp and the cabinet of @realDonaldTrump need to invoke Article 4 of the 25th Amendment and remove him from office, today, or resign,” he ranted.

Breitbart added:

Liberals, including Olbermann, were not amused by the meme. In his tweet, Olbermann referred to the efforts by congressional Democrats to deem Trump “mentally unfit” to serve as president so they can pass a bill that would allow Congress remove him from office under the 25th Amendment.

The 25th Amendment, ratified in 1967 shortly after President John F. Kennedy’s assassination, addresses the issue of what to do when a president becomes unable to perform his presidential duties. It allows the vice president to assume the presidency in case the president resigns or the cabinet removes him from office because he is “unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office.”

Naturally, Olbermann’s insane followers agreed.

An article at The Blaze further noted:

Olbermann is referring to the effort by a group of congressional Democrats rallying support for a bill that would create a congressional “oversight” panel with the intended goal of ruling Trump “incapacitated” or unable to carryout the duties of his office in order to remove him from office using the 25 Amendment in the Constitution.

The 25th Amendment was ratified in 1967 and established the presidential line-of-succession and what to do when a sitting president is “incapacitated.” The purpose of the amendment was to address serious medical issues, but Democrats seem to believe the amendment can be used to remove Trump from office.

In all, 25 House Democrats have signed onto a piece of legislation by Rep. Jaime Raskin (D-Md.), a constitutional lawyer, that would use Congress to remove Trump using the 25th Amendment.

That bill, however, is a long shot, given that Republicans control both the House and the Senate and the requirements of the 25th Amendment.  It’s highly unlikely that Pence will sign on to any such measure based solely on a tweet and demands by angry liberals who no doubt think Trump’s removal will put Hillary Clinton in the White House.

It’s not the first time Olbermann has gone off the deep end, as we’ve documented several times.  After Trump’s victory, he went ballistic, declaring that the U.S. was attacked by Russia.  He also issued a veiled threat to “get” Trump, calling the president a “treacherous Russian whore.”

In February 2011, I first said that liberalism, at its core, is an ideology of rage and hate.  Olbermann proves that assertion correct on just about any given day.

Olbermann, Breitbart said, currently hosts a webcast for GQ called “The Resistance.”
