Interstate Travel Restrictions? Governor DeSantis Responds: Unconstitutional, Absurd.

The Biden administration, along with the CDC, has floated the idea of interstate travel restrictions against such states as Florida, because the Covid-19 variant has increased in that state. DeSantis had a response: if you restrict Americans from traveling freely while allowing illegals to pour across the border, that’s a “very damaging farce.”

Unconstitutional, unwise, unjust travel restrictions

If you think about it, restricting the right of Americans to travel freely throughout our country while allowing illegal aliens to pour across the southern border unmolested would be a ridiculous but very damaging farce.

Twenty-eighth.

Twenty-seven other states and for the entire pandemic, it’s a similar story.

The White House is reportedly considering domestic travel restrictions including in Florida, as variant cases of the coronavirus surge in the Sunshine State, while Gov. Ron DeSantis is pushing back against any possible restrictions, calling them “absurd.”

Red state Florida has been in the crosshairs of the Biden administration before. The state has been open for months and numerous other states are higher in their Covid death rate than Florida.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The travel industry has rebounded some in Florida since Governor DeSantis opened it back up last year, with air traffic increasing as people begin to fly again. Interstate travel restrictions would once again devastate Florida’s economy from barring entry or exit to the state, and even requiring Covid tests for all travellers. Governor DeSantis has opposed even testing travellers for Covid prior to getting on an airplane.

Interstate travel restrictions?

Even Florida Senator Marco Rubio has come out opposing interstate travel restrictions based on the spread of COVID variants. He also referred to the Biden administration’s policy of allowing illegals to flow unrestricted across the border.

“Instituting a travel ban, or any restriction of movement between the states, would be an outrageous, authoritarian move that has no basis in law or science.”

Joe Biden and those in his administration apparently think they’re authoritarian overlords with even the suggestion of such travel restrictions. The Covid variant is still a Covid virus – taking aim to shut the country down again over it is more than absurd, it’s plain evil.
