Internal Bush poll shows Ted Cruz just two points below Trump, surging
On Sunday, Fox News media analyst Howard Kurtz issued a tweet that said internal Bush polling shows a much tighter race in South Carolina than public polls. According to that report, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, is just two points below Trump and appears to be surging.
This conflicts with the Real Clear Politics average, which as of this writing shows Trump 20 points ahead of Cruz.
Internal poll for Bush PAC shows much tighter SC race: Trump 26, Cruz 24, Jeb 12, Rubio 11–while public surveys give Trump a huge lead

He also said:

@ChuckNellis @HowardKurtz This poll is based on normal turnout. I pray it's right. I think JEBS pac was pretty close in NH.

Many others have felt the same thing for some time.
One person wondered:
Gee why would Jeb wants those #s out there vs RCP? Because he needs to take down Rubio, Kasich? @HowardKurtz pic.twitter.com/wTEp39833o

Bingo.
Kurtz also observed:
Polls are snapshots, and often miss the mark. Take internal polls with grain of salt. Trump may attract new voters in SC, we don't know

But as the Right Scoop observed, the surge in Iowa turned out against Trump, even though he claimed it was for him.
