The Israeli government approved a hostage deal brokered by Qatar and is set to begin this weekend. Hamas will supposedly release 53 hostages: women, children, and elderly, in exchange for 140 – 300 Terrorists being held in Israeli confinement. They will be released over 4-5 days, during which fuel and supplies will be allowed into Gaza. After that, the Israeli operations to disgorge Hamas from Gaza will continue. The hostage deal comes with backlash, however, by those who fully comprehend the ramifications of negotiating with terrorists.
Part of the new deal is said to be that the Red Cross will visit all 240 of the hostages and provide medical assistance to those who need it. Palestinians convicted of murder will not be included in the hostage deal (Times of Israel), nor will non-Jewish hostages. As the 4 day cease-fire progresses, Hamas is tasked with finding the 30 or so hostages held by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The cease-fire can be extended if other hostages are released. The problem? This agreement puts Israel back where it started – terrorists will be back to foment more bloodshed.
The hostage deal is a trap. Every day, Hamas will offer ten hostages to continue the ceasefire. The pressure from families will be intense. Meanwhile, the media will show the casualties in Gaza. International pressure to maintain the ceasefire will be intense. Hamas may survive.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
The hostage deal is a disaster and disgrace
it takes Israel right back to the pre-Oct 7th mindset of negotiating with terrorists
it gives Hamas freedom to regroup and decreases the chances of freeing the other hostages

A deal with Islamic terrorists is always a mistake.
Israel suffered 30+ years of escalating terror because of its deal with Arafat.
Oct 7 happened because Israel made deals for quiet with Hamas.
When you think of terrorists in diplomatic, not military terms, you can’t win.

A ceasefire for 53 hostages undermines everybody.
undermines soldiers in the field
undermines other families
undermines everyone saying no ceasefire
increases antisemitism by making Israel look weakBibi does this, I’m done with him.

There are two sides to every situation, and Israelis have marched and begged for Israel to bring the hostages home. Some are aware of the price; others just want their loved ones home.
We’re also painfully aware of the price. Those being released by Israel aren’t hostages- they’re terrorists who have threatened our safety, and they’ll do it again as we know too well by now. Security-wise it may be a mistake. But we are Israelis first, and we want our kids home.

When Gilad Shalit was kidnapped in 2006, he was not released until 2011. In exchange for his release, Israel agreed to 1,027 terrorists being let out of Israeli prison. One of those people was Yahya Sinwar…the alleged mastermind of the October 7 Hamas attack. The issue of negotiating with pit vipers is on public display for everyone who has engaged in it. They will always bite back. And though is usually costly in the long run, the love of Israelis for their families comes first.
Every single Israeli child knew the name Gilad Shalit. His face was everywhere. The whole country demanded him back.

It is unclear how many hostages are still alive, after three bodies of people kidnapped were discovered by the IDF near Shifa hospital. Believing the tall tales of the terrorists is a fool’s errand. Some of the original hostages were desperately injured in the kidnapping process, one even having his arm severed. Believing they were properly cared for by the terrorists is sketchy.
“The Palestinians who will be released in the hostage deal are terrorists who were tried and convicted in court. The Israelis who will be freed are civilians who were ripped from their homes by Hamas terrorists. Don’t for a second believe this is an even swap.” Aviva Klompas, author
