While appearing on Sunday’s edition of Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” former House Speaker Newt Gingrich predicted a Republican sweep in November’s elections and further said the lawless Democrats on Nancy Pelosi’s illegitimate January 6 commission “face real risk of jail” for the laws they are breaking.
He also indicated that Attorney General Garland could also find himself behind bars.
“Well, you have, both with Attorney General Garland and with this select committee on January 6, people who have run amok,” he told Maria Bartiromo. “They are breaking the rules. They are going after people in a way which is reminiscent of the British monarchy using closed-door systems that we outlawed deliberately because we’d seen it. We knew what it was like. And they’re running over people’s civil liberties. And what they need to understand is, on January 4 next year, you’re going to have a Republican majority in the House and a Republican majority in the Senate.”
“And all these people who’ve been so tough and so mean and so nasty are going to be delivered subpoenas for every document, every conversation, every tweet, every email, because I think it’s clear that this — these are people who are literally just running over the law, pursuing innocent people, causing them to spend thousands and thousands of dollars in legal fees, for no justification,” he added. “And it’s basically a lynch mob.”

“Unfortunately, the attorney general of the United States has joined that lynch mob and is totally misusing the FBI,” Gingrich said. “And I think, when you have a Republican Congress, this is all going to come crashing down, and the wolves are going to find out that they’re now sheep. And they’re the ones who are, in fact, going to, I think, face a real risk of jail for the kind of laws they are breaking.”

Gingrich is right. Since taking power, Democrats and their Never-Trump allies have thumbed their noses at the Constitution in an apparent effort to turn the United States into a 21st century version of the former Soviet Union, where federal authorities are weaponized against American citizens exercising their Constitutional rights to protest and hold opinions different from those in the White House.
Recently, the January 6 committee — which violates the very resolution that created it — has basically declared it has unlimited power to do pretty much whatever it wants and to hell with the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
But is putting these lawless tyrants in jail sufficient? Remember, these are the same Democrats who spent four years enacting a lawless coup d’etat against former President Trump.
As Mark Levin recently noted, the modern Democrat Party, and I would add, their willing accomplices in the liberal media and Big Tech, are the greatest danger to the Constitution and the Republic today.
Even if modern Democrats were thrown in prison, others — perhaps more radical — would rise to take their place. And they would no doubt be out for revenge. Would America be better off if the Democrat Party was declared a subversive organization and banned from public office indefinitely? Personally, I think it would — at least until Democrats can prove they no longer hold to the Communist ideals they seem to have embraced.
The real question, though, is this: If Republicans DO take the House and Senate — as I personally suspect they will — will they have enough of a backbone to take the measures necessary to put an end to Democrat Party subversion and tyranny? Even if that means putting them in prison to be treated the same way the January 6 detainees are currently treated?
