Former NYT executive editor admits: ‘I carry a little plastic Obama doll in my purse’

In an op-ed published Wednesday at The Guardian, Jill Abramson, a former executive editor at the New York Times, admitted that she carries a plastic Obama doll in her purse.

“It’s easy to look at what’s happening in Washington DC and despair. That’s why I carry a little plastic Obama doll in my purse. I pull him out every now and then to remind myself that the United States had a progressive, African American president until very recently. Some people find this strange, but you have to take comfort where you can find it in Donald Trump’s America,” she wrote.

Apparently she doesn’t find comfort in good economic news or greatly improved jobs figures and the lowest black unemployment rate since the 1970s.

Her admission sparked a fair amount of mockery on Twitter.

York observed:

So maybe this is the doll she spoke of…

Or perhaps it’s “Rambama.”  You read that right.  It’s something that came out after SEALs killed Osama bin Laden to make the former president look tougher than he really was.

According to the New York Daily News:

The bicep-bulging figurine was released Wednesday as an ode to President Obama, who authorized the SEALS to kill Al Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden on May 1.

The Rambo-style Obama is armed with an M1-A4 rifle and is dressed in military fatigues and a black and red skull T-shirt emblazoned with “6,” referring to the SEAL Team 6, which carried out the U.S. raid.

“It’s topical and political,” said Emil Vicale, owner of the Connecticut-based action figure company, Hero Builders. “He was the man in charge when we got Osama.”

Vicale claims he has sold hundreds of Rambamas, which go for $34.95 a pop, but acknowledges he’s also received a flurry of hate mail from former U.S. service members who disapprove of the action hero.

Just a bit, we think…

Good point, but we’re not certain if Abramson actually worships the thing…

Some?

Twitchy noted: “We’re fairly sure that out there somewhere are members of the MSM who carry around Hillary therapy dolls as well.”

We don’t doubt that one bit…
