False and Dangerous Allegations Made by the Jan. 6 Committee Against GOP Rep. Loudermilk (Video)

A day after the Committee on House Administration Ranking Member U.S. Congressman Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) and Committee Member U.S. Congressman Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) issued a statement on the partisan 1/6 Select Committee falsely accusing Mr. Loudermilk of leading a tour through the Capitol on January 5, 2021, Loudermilk further issued a statement on Friday.

In a Press Release, released on Friday, Congressman Barry Loudermilk stated:

Nancy Pelosi’s hand selected Jan 6. Committee is not interested in truth. Their only mission is to seek out and destroy their political opponents.

Yesterday afternoon, as I was traveling home to Georgia from Washington, my wife and I found out that I was in the crosshairs of the J6 committee.

Why? Because I took a family with young children, who were visiting Washington, to lunch in a House office building cafeteria. What was so awful about this family that caused the committee to make false accusations about them? Some were wearing red baseball caps!

If this committee wanted to know the truth about it, all they had to do was ask.

Every member on that committee has a House phone directory, and some even have my cell phone number. All they had to do was call me and I would have answered their questions. There was nothing unusual or nefarious about this family’s visit to see their Congressman. But did anyone on the committee call and ask? NO, they didn’t!

Did they send me any correspondence asking about this? NO, they didn’t!

Instead they send an accusatory letter out to the MEDIA, so I, my wife, and the world learn about it while we are traveling home to Georgia.

Just imagine sitting on a crowded airplane, when your picture pops up on television screens all around you, insinuating that you are some kind of evil conspirator.

Then imagine, before you can even get home, you, your family and your coworkers are receiving seemingly endless disparaging messages and threats of violence. That is exactly what happened to me and my family yesterday, all because of the irresponsible and reckless actions of Pelosi’s political hit-squad of personal destruction.

Their actions have proven to me that they are not interested in learning the truth. They only want to destroy their political opponents.

I’m not going to stand by and let that happen. It’s time to stand up and fight back against their lawless behavior and baseless accusations. They are responsible for the threats my family and staff are receiving. They are the reason that law enforcement has to watch my offices, my family, and my home, and they should be held accountable!

I need your help to stop this type of corruption in Congress. While we are paying record prices for fuel, groceries, and just about everything else. While parents can’t get baby formula, and drugs are flowing across our southern border, the Democrats are spending more time making baseless accusations like this, than fixing these problems for Americans.

I want to end Pelosi’s reign as speaker, kick out every corrupt Democrat and RINO, so we can get Congress back to working for the people.

On Thursday, Davis and Loudermilk called on the U.S. Capitol police to release the January 5th tapes and stated, “A constituent family with young children meeting with their Member of Congress in the House Office Buildings is not a suspicious group or ‘reconnaissance tour.’ The family never entered the Capitol building.”
