Fake News Says Musk Leaving: Truth – Musk Not Leaving Until End of May

As a special employee, his time runs out on May 30

Fake News is reporting all over the place that Elon Musk is “stepping down” from the government. The truth is that he isn’t leaving until May 30, which is the specific day set from the beginning for “special employees.”

The rule for special employees in any administration is 130 days out of 365, a term set back in 1962. But of course, Fake news wanted something to hang their dilapidated hats on, so they’ve been claiming he’s leaving now. Not.

DOGE itself is only set to continue until 2026.

The Fake news fumble: Politico says it “stands by its reporting.” Keep standing on that quicksand. Or are they attempting to intimidate him?

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

“Politico has become a tabloid paper that would rather run fake news for clicks than real reporting,” White House spokesman Harrison Fields told Fox Digital on Wednesday of Politico’s report. “This is exactly why President Trump and DOGE have terminated millions of dollars in wasteful, government contracts to so-called news organizations that have diminished their credibility with the American people.” …

DOGE is a temporary cross-departmental organization that was established to slim down and streamline the federal government. The group itself will be dissolved on July 4, 2026, according to Trump’s executive order.

Musk and Trump have both previously previewed that Musk’s role was temporary and would come to end in the coming weeks.

“You, technically, are a special government employee and you’re supposed to be 130 days,” Fox News’ Bret Baier asked Musk during an exclusive interview with the DOGE leader and members of his team Thursday. “Are you going to continue past that or do you think that’s what you’re going to do?”

“I think we will have accomplished most of the work required to reduce the deficit by a trillion dollars within that time frame,” Musk responded.  Fox Digital

President Trump specifically loves “very smart people.” There is no doubt (unless you ask Democrats) that Elon Musk is highly intelligent. But Elon’s relationship with the Trump administration has been exceedingly costly. He has watched as not just dealers, but those who purchased his vehicles have been targeted, assaulted, and their Tesla cars and Cybertrucks destroyed. They’ve lost money, and he’s lost millions even at the stock market. Canada halted Tesla EV rebates as a result of Trump’s Tariffs but has not banned the vehicles as some are reporting.

Lots of fake news these days everywhere you look. The challenge is to check it all out.
