Fake news CNN claims Trump’s words are physically endangering journalists

On Wednesday, CNN foreign correspondent Clarissa Ward expressed concern that “people” in war zones have been “emboldened” by President Trump’s alleged “declaration of war on the media.”

“I can only imagine what a person like you is dealing with,” she said to Chris Cillizza. “At what point does this become reckless or irresponsible?”

Cillizza, Real Clear Politics said, works in Washington, D.C. as a political correspondent and commentator.

RCP added:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Playboy White House correspondent Brian Karem, who has received new-found fame after his exchange with White House deputy spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders at Tuesday’s press briefing, said Ward is “absolutely right” and talked about the trial and tribulations of reporters who have been jailed and even killed.

“Our newspapers after Donald Trump’s election, we’ve gotten threats from both the far left and the far right,” Karem said. “They are emboldened, it is dangerous, and the fact of the matter is, it is insulting to the memory of the people who have given their lives for the cause for providing information to the public to then be told you are fake media, you do not matter, and what you’re doing is false.”

Karem went so far as to claim that “we are going to see a reporter face physical harm because” of Trump.

“And quite frankly, every one of us should stand up against that because it is undermining the First Amendment. It is dangerous, making it dangerous for reporters. You’re absolutely right, there is going to come a time, and it’s not going to be too far off I surmise when we’re going to see a reporter is going to face physical harm because of this,” he added.

Cillizza, by the way, admitted there’s no evidence of collusion between Donald Trump and Russia, observing:

We can debate collusion. They’re right, there’s no evidence of that. But this is about the broader hacking of an election. In Dave’s case it was about a charitable organization that didn’t give to charity for the man who was running to be the president of the United States. It doesn’t have to do with the fact Donald Trump is a Republican. I guarantee you a million times over, because I know Dave personally, if it was the Hillary Clinton Foundation doing the same thing, he would have done the same reporting. That’s what’s maddening when you’re watching this.

Oddly enough, he also said it’s not the media’s job to report the news…

Here’s video of the segment:

Keep in mind that a CNN producer was recently caught on video admitting the Trump-Russia narrative is “BS” exploited by the network for ratings.  CNN contributor Van Jones — hardly a right-wing operative — was caught on video calling the Trump-Russia story a “nothingburger.”

“The Russia thing is just a big nothingburger. There’s nothing there you can do,” he said.

And let’s not forget that CNN recently had to pull and retract a fake Trump-Russia story.  Three employees resigned over that story.

Cillizza also asked Twitter to provide just one example of fake news and was deluged with examples, as we noted here.

The Gateway Pundit’s Cristina Laila put it this way:

Friendly reminder, it was a Bernie Sanders supporter who was obsessed with the Trump-Russia hoax that is pushed by the liars at CNN who went out and shot a Republican Congressman. If anything, CNN is a danger to America as they act more like Pravda rather than a real American media outlet.

“What a clever way to distract from a week of bad press; magically spin yourselves into the victims!” Laila added.

As it turns out, CNN isn’t the only propaganda outlet pushing this narrative.  On Wednesday, the Daily Caller said that Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, fretted that Trump’s “war” on the media will lead to violence against journalists:

Speaking at the Aspen Ideas conference, Goldberg said that a “large” attack on journalists is his biggest concern.

“The problem is, and this is what I worry about more than anything else, is that there are people in the country who don’t understand that this is a cynical reality TV game and are going to hear over and over again from the president that reporters, journalists are enemies of the state,” Goldberg told panel host Katie Couric.

“And someone, I mean God forbid, someone is going to do something violent against journalists in a large way, and then I know where the fault lies. And we’re heading in this direction, and it’s quite frightening.”

It’s all a very nice deflection, really.  The Trump-Russia conspiracy theory is falling apart and voters are waking up to the overwhelming liberal bias in the media.  So instead of dealing with the issue, the propagandists are changing the subject.  All the while ignoring the real threats and violence visited on Trump supporters by individuals whipped into a frenzy by the media.

Incidents like this are the reason CNN is now viewed by many as the least-trusted name in network news.
