Facebook once again banned Uncle Sam’s Misguided Children’s Rick Ferran, a legal Latino immigrant, for what they referred to as “hate speech.” Only it wasn’t hate speech at all, and they even apologized, but still left him banned. Facebook hate speech rules are being enforced, but are they right in their assessments? No.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
The post showed illegal immigrants at the border flipping off the Border Patrol. Beneath it was a video of zombies from a movie. So Rick asked for a review of the post because it wasn’t “hate speech.”
Rick got an apology from Facebook and they even reposted it. But…
When he attempted to go back to normal and post something new, they had not released him from the ban even though they admitted their mistake.
Then he attempted to appeal. As we have previously noted, the appeal button is useless.
Here are the FB “rules” – which ultimately mean that we have NO voice against illegal immigration or any other issue and cannot express our opinions without being punished.
“Do not post:
Tier 1 attacks, which target a person or group of people who share one of the above-listed characteristics or immigration status (including all subsets except those described as having carried out violent crimes or sexual offenses), where attack is defined as
Any violent speech or support in written or visual form
Dehumanizing speech such as reference or comparison to:
Insects
Animals that are culturally perceived as intellectually or physically inferior
Filth, bacteria, disease and feces
Sexual predator
Subhumanity
Violent and sexual criminals
Other criminals (including but not limited to “thieves,” “bank robbers,” or saying “all [protected characteristic or quasi-protected characteristic] are ‘criminals’”)
Mocking the concept, events or victims of hate crimes even if no real person is depicted in an image
Designated dehumanizing comparisons in both written and visual form.”
It is evident by these actions, that Facebook is following everything Rick posts.
