Facebook alternative ‘Mumbl It’ lets Republicans ‘say it loud and proud’ without the censorship

In an exclusive interview on Saturday, Nick Szankovics, a 36-year-old programmer and web developer based in Connecticut, told the Conservative Firing Line that he sees his Facebook alternative, Mumbl It, as a rallying cry for Republicans, “allowing them to finally say it loud and proud without billionaires squashing the truth.”

The site, he said, was launched on June 18th, 2018 and currently boasts some 3000 active members.

Szankovics said he originally started the site for his uncle, who, he added, hated Facebook’s censorship. Sadly, his uncle committed suicide in December 2017, so he didn’t live to see the official release. But, Szankovics added, he released the site anyway as a tribute to his uncle.

The goal, he said, is to keep speech on the Internet free and uncensored, and, he further said, given the attacks and everything else going on with sites like Gab, Facebook and Twitter, he wanted to ensure the “power remains with the people and not corporation.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

As we and others have reported, Facebook, the site dubbed “the world’s most dangerous censor,” purged over 800 pages and accounts.  Many of them appear to be conservative outlets, and one page offered support to veterans suffering from PTSD.

Facebook still has not released a list of the pages torn down, but a list of at least 185 pages can be found here.  As one might surmise, a majority of the pages listed fall to the right of center and when combined, have over 59 million followers.

“I think our main draw that makes us better than the competitors, like GAB, is that we have a familiar interface with features that make sense. Those who have been thrown off Facebook find our platform most closely fits their needs,” Szankovics said.

Mumbl It, he stated, is self funded, nevertheless, users are given the option to help defray the cost of running the site through donations, the purchase of merchandise, or even through “pro plans.”  However, Szankovics said, this isn’t entirely needed for the platform’s survival.

And for those concerned about security in wake of recent Facebook hack attacks, Szankovics told me that all levels of security and encryption have recently been upgraded, providing users with a very stable platform with no known vulnerabilities.

Mumbl It now joins Facebook alternatives like ProAmerica Only, Social Cross, Tea Party Community and DeplorablesOnline, giving conservatives a place where they can congregate without fear of censorship or Orwellian doublespeak.
