Ex-Biden Nuclear Official Sam Brinton Arrested as “Fugitive from Justice”

Ex-Biden official Sam Brinton was arrested again late Wednesday, this time as a “fugitive from justice.” He appeared in a Montgomery County court Thursday afternoon in Maryland. He will be extradited to Virginia. The charge stems from a third allegation of theft from the luggage of a Fashion Designer who reported it in 2018. She spotted her designs on Brinton in February 2023.

On Thursday afternoon, Brinton appeared before a judge via closed-circuit television from the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where Judge Victor Del Pino declined to release him and ordered him extradited to Virginia. Brinton did not have a lawyer or any supporters or press, other than The Daily Wire, at the hearing. A public defender spoke for him temporarily, despite his not being eligible for a public defender because of his income. He was wearing a blue jail jumpsuit and a mask. Daily Wire

The judge also told Brinton “good luck in Virginia.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Sam Brinton has been accused of stealing high end clothing and jewelry from several traveler’s luggage at various airports. The “fugitive from justice” arrest comes after officials served a search warrant at the residence in Maryland that he shares with another male, his spouse. He faces Grand Larceny charges regarding a third theft of luggage at a Houston Airport. As we previously reported, he had two other allegations of theft.

And in early December, Las Vegas prosecutors charged Brinton with grand larceny of an item valued between $1,200 and $5,000. Police accused Brinton of stealing a suitcase with a total estimated worth of $3,670 on July 6 at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas. The bag contained jewelry valued at $1,700, clothing worth $850 and makeup valued at $500.

Brinton faced up to 15 years total for the two alleged thefts. However, in both cases, the presiding judges ruled jail time wasn’t necessary.

In addition, a female Tanzanian fashion designer based in Houston accused Brinton in February of wearing her custom designs that were packed in a luggage she reported missing in 2018. Houston police referred that case to the FBIThomas Catenacci at Fox

Brinton agreed to pay over $3500 in restitution and was given a suspended sentence on the first allegation as long as he stayed out of trouble. He currently works for a nuclear startup company. He left the Department of Energy in December of 2022.
