Elizabeth Warren – Twitter Takes Her to Task

Elizabeth Warren got her ‘clock cleaned’ by Twitter users after she attempted to tell people she believes in science and “climate change is real.” Of course, Donald Trump had to say something about the cold back East that day. Was he making a statement about #liewatha (didn’t use her name)?

What Warren said on December 28 was, “I’m going to say something really crazy: I believe in science. Climate change is real and we have a moral obligation to protect this Earth for our children and grandchildren.”

Crazy? Crazy is claiming to be Native American when you’re not.

The Atlantic wrote back in 2012,

“Even if it could be proven, it wouldn’t qualify her to be a member of a tribe: Contrary to assertions in outlets from The New York Times to Mother Jones that having 1/32 Cherokee ancestry is “sufficient for tribal citizenship,” “Indian enough” for “the Cherokee Nation,” and “not a deal-breaker,” Warren would not be eligible to become a member of any of the three federally recognized Cherokee tribes based on the evidence so far surfaced by independent genealogists about her ancestry.”

Now that it’s firmly established… here are the Twitter users who took her to task:

DNA is also based in science. Yours does not show you are Native American. So either you are an outright liar or you actually don’t believe in science. Which is it, #Liewatha https://t.co/Iq3T89Wnwt
