Senator Dianne Feinstein died at the age of 90 after a year riddled with serious health issues. She was an intense liberal, the bane of the NRA and a royal pain for Conservatives during her 6 terms in the US Senate. But she did have strengths that the current crop of radical left-wingers does not possess: the ability to be respectful yet immovable in the positions she took. Whatever we might have thought of her she had a tough backbone. (Wish some Conservatives had that.) What’s next for California and the US Senate? The divide in the country could get worse if Newsom appoints a crazed leftist in her place.
Did you know that Adam Schiff, Barbara Lee, and Katie Porter are running for her position? Yeah. Like that. It really could get worse.
Dianne Feinstein was respectful to her political opponents. During the Kavanaugh hearings, she hugged Senator Lindsay Graham, which touched off a flurry of Democrats demanding she retire. They didn’t want her showing any respect toward a Republican.
But she had already begun to encounter opposition from the left. In 2017, she faced protests after voting to confirm some of President Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees, and she was heckled at a town hall meeting for criticizing the idea of “Medicare for All.”
Opposition to Feinstein grew even more intense after 2020, when she was friendly to Supreme Court nominee (later Justice) Amy Coney Barrett, and was seen giving Senate Judiciary Committee chair Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) a hug.
After furious Democrats called on Feinstein to retire for showing civility to Republicans, then-Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) pushed her to step down as the ranking member on the committee. Breitbart
Then there was the time she was confronted by a group of indoctrinated climate cultists who demanded- literally demanded- that she vote their way on the “green new deal.” No one dared demand Dianne Feinstein do things their way: she was an immovable object.

“You know what’s interesting about this group?” Feinstein said to them while standing defiant. “I’ve been doing this for 30 years. I know what I’m doing. You come in here and you say it has to be my way or the highway. I don’t respond to that.”
You can see the kids’ faces change from a look of exuberance to melancholy as they realize that Feinstein won’t budge.
At one point, a teenager said, “I hear what you are saying, but we’re the people who voted for you. You’re supposed to listen to us.”
“How old are you?” Feinstein calmly said back.
“Sixteen, I can’t vote,” the teenager replied.
“Well, you didn’t vote for me,” the elected official responded.
An older woman in the group tried to appeal to Feinstein’s position as a grandmother in a whiny monologue claiming that Feinstein’s alternative to the Green New Deal didn’t go far enough in protecting future generations.
“You know better than I do, so I think one day you should run for the Senate and then you do it your way,” Feinstein said. Daily Wire

Feinstein wasn’t easy to push around until this last year when aides had to tell her what she was doing. It was sad to see it, but then it’s embarrassing for the country that it came to that. Dianne Feinstein was a tough Democrat, which is more than we can say about certain Republicans. We have no idea what’s next for California. We hope it’s not as bad as we think it will be.
