Dem. Senator responds to Annapolis shooting with call for ‘assault weapons’ ban — Shooter used a shotgun

While appearing on a recent edition of CNN’s “Cuomo Prime Time,” Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., responded to the Annapolis shooting with the same, tired rhetoric the anti-gun left uses for literally everything, calling for a ban on so-called “assault weapons.”  There’s only one problem.  The shooter who gunned down five people at the Capital Gazette used a shotgun.

According to the Daily Wire:

“Are you aware of anything on the federal level that is being done actively to deal with the issues that seem to invariably surround these shootings?” Cuomo asked. “We know what the states are doing, but on the federal level, is there anything to give any hope for any kind of momentum?”

Gillibrand responded by praising leftist Parkland activists as she said the Democrats needed to flip both the House and the Senate to be able to do something about gun violence.

“So I actually am optimistic that when we do flip the House, and possibly the Senate, our first vote can be on common-sense gun reform, to actually ban the assault weapons and the large magazines, ban the bump-stocks, have a universal background check system where terrorists can’t get access to weapons, and then have the investments in mental health that have been needed for a very long time,” Gillibrand said.

Ryan Saavedra tweeted a video of the exchange:

Response to Gillibrand was pretty much what you’d expect.

No, they really don’t care about facts.  At all…

That’s pretty much all they want to do these days.  At least when they’re not calling for Trump and/or his supporters to be beaten and/or killed.

Scratch a liberal, find a hypocrite…

So true…
