Daily Beast columnist Dean Obeidallah falsely claims NRA ‘training terrorists who kill American children’

Since the tragic Parkland shooting, anti-gun leftists have engaged in a propaganda campaign that appears to be designed to foment violence against those who support the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.  On Monday, Daily Beast columnist Dean Obeidallah continued that effort with a tweet falsely claiming the NRA is “training terrorists who kill American children,” citing a two-year-old grant to the school’s JROTC cadet corps.

“Florida shooting killer Nikolas Cruz was literally trained by the NRA! The NRA is now training terrorists who kill American children!!” he exclaimed.

According to the Chicago Tribune:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The troubled teen authorities say killed 17 people at a Florida high school excelled in an air-rifle marksmanship program supported by a grant from the National Rifle Association Foundation, part of a multimillion-dollar effort by the gun group to support youth shooting clubs and other programs.

Nikolas Cruz, 19, was wearing a maroon shirt with the logo from the Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School when he was arrested Wednesday shortly after the shooting. Former JROTC cadets told The Associated Press that Cruz was a member of the small varsity marksmanship team that trained together after class and traveled to other area schools to compete.

It was a close-knit group. One of the other cadets started calling Cruz “Wolf,” and the nickname stuck.

The grant was given in 2016 and benefited a number of students, including some hailed as heroes during the shooting.  But Obeidallah wants you to think they’re terrorists.

Naturally, his disgusting smear of the NRA didn’t sit too well with many.

Good question.

Bingo.

This is the modern anti-gun left, which is apparently willing and able to do anything and say anything to push its narrative.
