D. James Kennedy Ministries drops PayPal financial services

D. James Kennedy Ministries, founded by the late Dr. D. James Kennedy, released a notice today that because of PayPal’s response to North Carolina’s transgender bathroom law (HB2), they have cancelled all business with the financial services of PayPal.
The Ministry stated that the choice was made after a long careful deliberation, because of the company’s response to North Carolina’s transgender bathroom law (HB2).
Dr. Frank Wright, CEO and President of the D. James Kennedy Ministries said, “PayPal’s decision to cancel a planned expansion in Charlotte, over its displeasure with a duly enacted state law, constitutes a raw and unvarnished form of radical social activism. The message for all of us is clear: “If you break with the new secular orthodoxy, we will punish you.”
Dr. Frank Wright penned letter to PayPal CEO can be read here.
“This is modern-day liberalism at its best: “You tolerate us; we persecute you.”
As CEO and President of D. James Kennedy Ministries, I have written an open letter to PayPal CEO Daniel Shulman explaining my reasoning, “Wright said. “While PayPal’s decision sends a clear message to society, we feel that it is our ministry’s obligation to respond with an equal degree of conviction in the midst of America’s transgender controversy—and we choose to stand for commonsense protections for the little girls and boys least able to defend themselves!”
“And regardless of how our nation treats biblical truth moving forward, we will continue to stand for it. To that end, I hope this letter encourages you to continue being a light in a world of darkness, and to hold fast to God’s Word in the face of opposition.”
Back in April 2016, WND reported that Rev. Franklin Graham says PayPal deserves the “hypocrite of the year award” for snubbing business in North Carolina over alleged discrimination while it cozies up to nations with horrendous human-rights records.
PayPal has been doing business in nations such as Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, and Yemen that execute homosexuals, fill jails with political prisoners, and those nations also treat women like second-class citizens and yet, PayPal is quiet about it.
