Constitutional Republic vs Democracy: What’s the Difference?

The Founding Fathers believed that Democracy was “mob rule.” In a Democracy- the word that slithers off the tongues of leftist Democrats every day – the majority can rule over the individual without regard to their rights. In a Constitutional Republic,  there is a separation of powers that is meant to guarantee those rights and protect the individual from tyrannical actions. At least, that’s how it is supposed to work.

“In democracies, the 51% rules over the 49% and has total control. The 51% can do whatever it wants, because in democracies there are not structures in place to protect individual rights. If 51% vote to steal your bike, you are without a bike. If 51% vote to kill you, you are out of a life. It does not matter if it is right or not, what the majority says is what happens…

A republic is different though, and it operates for the protection of the individual against the majority when they get out of control. It is very important to protect the rights of the individual in a political system, for that is how governments are limited in their power and scope.

Democracies provide arbitrary power to governments, giving them prerogative to do anything as long as “it’s what the people want.” In a free society, this is unacceptable.”

The Federalist Papers

Robert Longley, writing at Thoughtco.com gave some examples of the difference:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

At this point in time, Democrats are attempting to change the parameters of government in the United States. They have called for the Second Amendment to be destroyed. They have stomped hard on the First amendment in the areas of Free Speech, Freedom of Religion, Freedom of Assembly, etc. They have moved to destroy families, attacking the very core of our society by turning our children against their parents and making sure they are confused about their identities. They literally want to destroy the Constitutional protections so that they can change the entire governmental process. To put it bluntly, they want control and they are using everything from heavy-handed agencies to propaganda to accomplish it.

Democrat attack ads constantly accuse Republicans of being “extreme.” They use the Jan 6 riot to say that “Democracy” is under attack.  Biden has called Republicans “semi-facists” and plans a speech to drive the danger of Trump supporters as “extremist threats to Democracy.” Jan 6 was a riot, not an insurrection. But it is a convenient way of attacking the opposition.

Be aware of the rhetoric, be wary of everything you hear from the media, Democrats, and fake Republicans. The United States is a Constitutional Republic, a nation of laws that is under attack from within.
