Conflict of Interest? Connections to Democrats in Investigations of Awan

Sometimes you find interesting connections that shout “Conflict of Interest” about as loudly as you can shout them. And you wonder just how the Democrats keep getting away with things that make some of us shudder. Like hiring Imran Awan and his Pakistani clan that defrauded the House of Representatives, and oh wait, had passwords to Florida legislator Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s computers.
Connections and questions
Imran Awan, the former IT official who tried to flee the country and was arrested for bank fraud has as his attorney, Chris Gowan, who is a long time Clinton campaigner for both Bill, and Hillary’s first run for President in 2008. Gowan is portraying the arrest of Awan as “clearly a right-wing media-driven prosecution by a United States Attorney’s Office that wants to prosecute people for working while Muslim.”
Never mind the truth. Just label it all Islamophobic and be done with it.
Is America headed for a recession?
Awan was released after the arrest with just a home monitoring device and a promise to appear (must be nice to know people). But we still do not know the extent of what he did with the information he had access to.
Why the threats?
Now Debbie Wasserman Schultz is another matter. She fought tooth and nail against the Capitol Police accessing her laptop after the investigation broke in February. She even threatened the Capitol Police Chief with “consequences” and told him his actions were “improper.”
The other day her office finally fired Imran Awan after leaving him on her payroll as a consultant even during 6 months of the investigation. She reportedly agreed that the FBI could scan her laptop…finally…as part of their investigation.
Her brother is Steven Wasserman, an assistant US Attorney for the District of Columbia. Earlier in the year he was accused of burying the Seth Rich investigation. Whether or not he could actually do that from his position is a question. The issue now is, does he have anything to do with the Imran Awan investigation? If so, he needs to immediately recuse himself.
Not Verified
Some Conservatives are claiming that Wasserman is in charge of the Imran investigation. We can’t verify that claim and frankly if the DOJ is that stupid as to allow him anywhere near the investigation, they all should be fired.
What did Awan do with the information he had access to? Is he the “collusion” that all the investigators have been looking for that goes back to Democrats instead of the President (Mark Steyn thinks so)? Will this blow up in the Democrats faces? We can hope, can’t we?
