Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., has been on the attack against President Donald Trump since the beginning.
He was a key player in Nancy Pelosi’s failed impeach-and-remove schemes.
And he’s claimed, without evidence, to have seen all that evidence of Trump’s 2016 campaign colluding with Russia. That’s the evidence, of course, that special counsel Robert Mueller, said wasn’t there, and that special counsel John Durham confirmed didn’t exist.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
A relative handful of Republicans sided with him this week to trigger the failure of a motion to censure him – and fine him $16 million for part of the cost of the Mueller investigation, which was unneeded from the beginning.
And Schiff boasted that he would be proud to wear that vote as a “badge of honor.”
But he might have spoken too soon.
A report from the Washington Examiner explained he’s now facing an ethics complaint.
The report said the Center for Renewing America filed a complaint to the Office of Congressional Ethics Thursday, asking for an investigation of Schiff over his false claims – repeated often to the American public – of Russian collusion with Trump.
The complaint focuses on Schiff’s claims he saw evidence of the unproven claims of collusion and his promotion of the discredited “dossier” of false statements about Trump assembled by ex-British spy Christopher Steele.
Durham, in fact, found the FBI had no proper basis for launching the Crossfire Hurricane investigation into Trump and Russia in 2016.
“The report concluded the investigation was inherently flawed, as there was no proper basis to conduct it in the first place, and it also found that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s campaign played an outsize role in pushing collusion claims to the media and to the FBI,” the Examiner reported.
The CRA wants the House Ethics Committee to open an investigation into Schiff and his lies, and follow through with “appropriate disciplinary action,” which could include a motion to expel.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., who had moved to censure and fine Schiff, blamed members of her own party for that action failing.
“20 Republicans voted w/ Dems to stop the ethics investigation, censure, & fine of Adam Schiff,” Luna said in a tweet. “So there is no confusion (as some did not accurately read the bill) I will be filing a privileged motion to censure & send Schiff to ethics for investigation.”
