CNN’s Don Lemon to conservative guest: ‘You are the bad guy’ if you criticize anti-gun Parkland students

During Monday’s edition of CNN Tonight, host Don Lemon told right-leaning CNN political commentator Tara Setmayer that those who criticize the anti-gun Parkland students now pushing for gun control are “bad” for doing so.

After Setmayer complained that if you criticize the behavior of some of the students, “all of a sudden you’re the bad guy,” Lemon responded: “You are the bad guy. Yes, you are, you are. These kids suffered an unimaginable tragedy. You let them vent, and then you move on.”

According to Newsbusters’ Brad Wilmouth:

The back and forth started at 11:53 p.m. Eastern, when Setmayer recalled that “Some of the rhetoric coming from some of the Parkland kids was a bit much,” and then complained about the student activists “saying that the NRA has the blood of children on their hands.”

Lemon brought up Benghazi as he countered: “During the election, I heard women whose son — there was this one woman whose son had been killed in Benghazi, and she came out and she said really horrible things about, you know, Democrats and about Hillary Clinton, and no one criticized her because she was grieving.”

What?  Quite a few people criticized Patricia Smith, the mother of Sean Smith, one of those killed in Benghazi, including Democrat Hillary Clinton, the most evil person ever nominated to the White House by a major party.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

“She’s wrong, she’s absolutely wrong,” Clinton told Jorge Ramos back in 2016.

Chris Matthews also attacked Smith, as did Bethlehem Shoals, a writer for GQ Magazine, who said he’d like to beat Smith to death.  Then there was evil Harry Reid, the former Senator from Nevada, who called her “crazy.”

But Lemon now wants us to think that no one ever criticized Smith.

Lemon also falsely claimed that networks like CNN aren’t elevating David Hogg and his fellow anti-gun demagogues.

Wilmouth added:

Continuing to dismiss her concerns about giving air to one side of a political debate without being allowed to respond with appropriate criticism, he soon added: “We’re not elevating them. And they deserve to have every elevation because of what they went through, and we should listen to them because I can’t imagine what they went through.”

Keep in mind this is the same Don Lemon who bashed Christianity, defended the far-left terror group Antifa and threw a temper tantrum after being accused of fake news.

It’s no wonder so many now view CNN as the least-trusted name in network news.
