Christine Blasey Ford’s accusations of sexual assault leveled against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh has caused quite a stir. But the accusation by Ford is 35 years old and unverified. The Judge has undergone numerous vettings by the FBI. Even then, Ben Shapiro has six excellent questions that should be asked before hopping into this web of confusion:
Why Didn’t Feinstein Come Forward Earlier?
Why Isn’t The FBI Investigating?
Why Didn’t Ford Tell Anybody About This Incident Until 2012?
Why Do Her Therapist’s Notes Conflict With Her Account?
She Doesn’t Remember Key Details.
Why Aren’t Any Other Women Coming Forward?
Excellent questions, Ben. Let’s look at them for a minute starting with the last one. The only other women who have “come forward” so far are the 65 women who have written letters attesting to Judge Kavanaugh’s respectful, excellent behavior toward them. An old allegation shouldn’t destroy anyone’s entire life and career, especially when it’s unverified.
Sexual allegations can and do destroy lives and careers. This one, however, is over 30 years old, which would seemingly put it out of the statue of limitations on sexual assault or even rape.
Ms. Ford contends that her accusation against Kavanaugh left her in anguish and terror regarding retaliation, but decided her civic responsibility was to come forward after she was confronted by a Buzzfeed reporter at her home. Until then, she was reportedly reluctant to step into the limelight.
Her attorney is reportedly the #MeToo attorney Debra Katz, who said it was the investigators who have to prove the case and her client doesn’t need corroborate anything. Which is not what the law says, but whatever. So in this case we have guilty until proven guilty with no corroboration.
Question: when did the revelation of names come to her?
According to Ben Shapiro,
“Ford showed her therapist’s notes to The Washington Post. Those notes conflict with her account. The notes don’t include names, instead stating that the alleged perpetrators were “from an elitist boys’ school,” and had since become “highly respected and high-ranking members of society in Washington.” The notes also state that four boys were involved, not two; she says her therapist got it wrong, and that there were four boys at the party but only two boys involved. Another therapy session the following year includes the charge that Ford underwent a “rape attempt” in “her late teens,” but she was allegedly 15 – not late teens – when this incident occurred. Her husband, who was present for the first therapy session, said Kavanaugh’s name was raised, but the Post account doesn’t say that Kavanaugh was called the alleged perpetrator.”
The FBI received the forward of this incident from Dianne Feinstein who got it from Rep Anna Eshoo. They threw it back to the White House with no mention of any investigation. This allegation is over 30 years old. The only other person that has said anything so far is the other man supposedly involved, Mark Judge, and he denies it ever happened, as does Judge Kavanaugh.
Ford never told ANYONE about this incident for 30 years. Which is odd. Most victims of sexual abuse raise the issue long before then.
Feinstein held the letter for a long period of time and did nothing with it until the last minute before the vote. She had the letter during the Senate hearings, why didn’t she ask Kavanaugh about the allegations then?
