China Complains as US Navy Sails through Taiwan Strait
Over the weekend, two US warships sailed through the Taiwan Strait for the first time since Pelosi’s visit in early August. Naturally China complains that the Taiwan Strait belongs to them, but it is in international waters, so nobody pays them any attention. Not kowtowing to China is the best plan for any branch of the US Military. They want world domination, so let’s not give it to them. (This means YOU, Biden.)
The 7th Fleet wrote on Facebook:
Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruisers USS Antietam (CG 54) and USS Chancellorsville (CG 62) are conducting a routine Taiwan Strait transit August 28 (local time) through waters where high seas freedoms of navigation and overflight apply in accordance with international law. These ships transited through a corridor in the Strait that is beyond the territorial sea of any coastal State. The ship’s transit through the Taiwan Strait demonstrates the United States’ commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific. The United States military flies, sails, and operates anywhere international law allows.
China complains that our Military goes “anywhere international law allows.” They whined about Pelosi’s trip on August 3 and stepped up military maneuvers around the island. They whine about US lawmakers visiting Taiwan, they are in a constant dither over what they view as a breach of the “One China” policy and an attack on their sovereignty. They are a dangerous rogue nation.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

None of the Navy’s transits were publicized until August 28. China was watching, however.
The People’s Liberation Army tracked the two cruisers during the transit, according to a Monday statement from the Chinese foreign ministry.
“The Eastern Theater Command conducted security tracking and monitoring of the US warships’ passage in the whole course, and had all movements of the U.S. warships under control,” spokesman Zhao Lijian said.
“U.S. warships frequently flex muscles in the name of exercising freedom of navigation. This is not about keeping the region free and open. This is provocation aimed at ‘freedom of trespassing’ and it constitutes deliberate sabotage of regional peace and stability”…Meanwhile, amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli (LHA-7) is also in the South China Sea, along with its fleet of F-35B Lightning II Joint Strike Fighters, which are onboard as the Navy and Marine Corps test out the “lightning carrier” concept,” according to Monday’s USNI News Fleet and Marine Tracker. The amphibious warship left San Diego, Calif., on its first deployment in May.
China has 3 aircraft carriers, the United States has 11 with one on the way. China called the two warships that transited the Taiwan strait “old.” They’re always trying to sound tough, always attempting to intimidate. As much as all of us gripe about the wokeism in the Military, it is highly unlikely China wants to engage with one of our warships. China complains, the US Military continues its job. Let’s keep it that way.
