Chelsea Handler advocates military coup against Trump, gets schooled by James Woods

On Sunday, alleged comedian Chelsea Handler issued a tweet advocating a military coup against President Trump, and suggested generals take action under the 25th Amendment.  Naturally, she got quite an education on the subject by many on Twitter, including actor James Woods, who reminded her of the Second Amendment.

“Every time I land in America, how much longer can these generals allow trump (sic) to cause so much damage? 25th amendment is there for a reason,” she tweeted.

“That would be a coup d’etat. We are a constitutional republic to avoid that very act. It is precisely why we have the Second Amendment,” Woods said.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Exactly.

One person told Handler:

Media analyst Mark Dice suggested Handler quit landing in America:

Twitchy added:

We’re going to guess that Chelsea thinks America is a Democracy, most Lefties do. In fact, one could almost say it pains them to admit we are indeed a REPUBLIC. You know, that famous line about pledging allegiance to the flag and to the republic for which it stands.

According to Twitchy, Handler never responded to Woods, which, the post said, would have been a “bummer,” since that would have sparked “a serious schooling and not just a single tweet.”

It’s not the first time Handler has called for a military coup to take Trump out of office, as we reported back in August.

“To all the generals surrounding our idiot-in-chief…the longer U wait to remove him, the longer UR name will appear negatively in history,” she tweeted at the time.

One of those who educated her on the subject was Buck Sexton, who wrote:

As we observed at the time, Handler may have violated federal law with her tweet, specifically, 18 U.S. Code § 2383, which states:

Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

Then there’s this law against advocating the overthrow of the government — something a number of liberals have done since Trump’s election:

Whoever knowingly or willfully advocates, abets, advises, or teaches the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying the government of the United States or the government of any State, Territory, District or Possession thereof, or the government of any political subdivision therein, by force or violence, or by the assassination of any officer of any such government; or

Whoever, with intent to cause the overthrow or destruction of any such government, prints, publishes, edits, issues, circulates, sells, distributes, or publicly displays any written or printed matter advocating, advising, or teaching the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying any government in the United States by force or violence, or attempts to do so; or

Whoever organizes or helps or attempts to organize any society, group, or assembly of persons who teach, advocate, or encourage the overthrow or destruction of any such government by force or violence; or becomes or is a member of, or affiliates with, any such society, group, or assembly of persons, knowing the purposes thereof—

Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by the United States or any department or agency thereof, for the five years next following his conviction.

Apparently, Handler didn’t learn her lesson back in August.
