CBS’ ‘The Good Fight’ character: ‘We need to assassinate the president’

It seems that impeaching President Trump isn’t enough for the CBS All Access show “The Good Fight.”  Sunday’s episode of the program, titled “Day 457,” shows an armed character making multiple references to assassinating the president, Newsbusters reported.

According to Callista Ring:

Lawyer Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski), who despises Trump and spends most of her time hallucinating fake news segments about the president, defends her friend Tully after he was arrested for violently rioting in the streets. Tully jokes privately to Diane in court, “Oh, like we need to assassinate the President?” in response to Diane asking him not to say anything radical.

When she reprimands him for the statement afterwards, he assures her, “It was a joke, that’s all!”

In another exchange, Diane found a gun in Tully’s bag and demands to know if what he said in court was really a joke. Tully responded, “Why? You don’t believe in regime change?” When she hands him back the gun after unloading it, he tells her, “This won’t slow us down.”

Ring adds:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Since The Good Fight has been giddily congratulating itself all season for its war on Trump, one can wonder how serious these jokes about the president’s assassination really are.

Next to jokes about killing President Trump, I’m not sure it’s even worth mentioning the other attacks on him in the episode, like when the show portrays the Trump-appointed judge as a complete buffoon. Not only does he fumble around on the bench, but he has no idea what’s going on in the courtroom: “In my court we do not follow, you know…customary things.” Diane is able to get her way by outsmarting him—using big words, nonsensical legal jargon, and fluffing his ego.

“Apparently,” Ring said, “anything goes when it comes to bashing President Trump on The Good Fight, whether it’s fake news segments, cartoons lamenting the fact that Trump is president, or references to his assassination.”

As we’ve reported time and again, leftists have advocated Trump’s assassination since he won the 2016 election.

We can’t help but wonder: Does CBS truly want to see Trump murdered?
