Never bring an axe to a gunfight. That would at least be common sense, but it appears that one North Carolina man didn’t get the memo. A Burlington homeowner heard a commotion at his backdoor and went to investigate. He found William Lawrence Cowan, 29, attempting to break into his home with an axe that belonged to the homeowner. He retrieved his shotgun, pointed it at the suspect, and whalla! the man dropped the axe and ran. (WSOCTV)
Police formed a perimeter and arrested Cowan without incident.

Liberals hate these kind of incidents. They don’t like homeowners to be armed. But the majority of incidents like this never need a weapon to be fired at all. Like Cowan, most burglars will run when confronted by a gun of any kind. If they don’t, they pay for it.
