Burgess Owens Slams Dems For ‘Defeating the Dreams of Americans’ As They Unveil Biden-Backed ‘Amnesty’ Bill

Rep. Burgess Owens slammed Democrats for immigration policies that harm Americans as the majority party gets set to unveil a Biden-backed bill that will provide a path to citizenship for millions of illegal immigrants.

Owens (R-UT), in an interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson, said the Biden immigration agenda will unfairly affect the black community and ruin the American dream for so many.

“The leftists have never been our friends,” Owens said. “They are the ones that are anti-choice, they want open borders [which] they know is going to end up hurting those that are trying to get their first ladder up to the middle class.”

Owens added that the only thing Biden’s immigration policies will accomplish is to “defeat the dream of Americans to live the American dream and get to the middle class.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Burgess Owens Slams Biden’s Amnesty For Illegals Push

Burgess Owens comments come as Democrats get set to unveil an immigration bill that includes a citizenship path for 11 million illegal immigrants.

The U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021 parrots a proposal announced by the White House on President Biden’s first day in office, and includes an eight-year path to citizenship.

The bill, according to Fox News, “would also see illegal immigrants farmworkers, Temporary Protected Status (TPS) recipients and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients immediately eligible for green cards.”

Biden, during a CNN town hall, made one of his famous ‘gaffes’ in saying a majority of those eligible for citizenship would not be Hispanic.

“The vast majority of the people, those 11 million undocumented, they’re not Hispanics; they’re people who came on a visa – who was able to buy a ticket to get in a plane and didn’t go home,” he claimed.

“They didn’t come across the Rio Grande swimming.”

According to the Pew Research Center, 25% of immigrants living in the United States came from Mexico with the next largest demographic coming from China at 6%.

Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell recently called Biden’s immigration agenda a “massive proposal for blanket amnesty that would gut enforcement of American laws while creating huge new incentives for people to rush here illegally at the same time.”

In another move designed to satiate open-border zealots, President Biden recently initiated a new directive that would prohibit the use of the terms “alien” or “illegal alien” in official immigration communications.

Federal workers will be asked to use the preferred term going forward for illegal immigrants – “non-citizens.”

The new immigration bill being introduced by Democrats is considered a hard sell despite there being a 50-50 tie in the Senate which would be broken by Vice President Kamala Harris.

Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) has described getting it through the chamber as a “Herculean” task.

The bill will include significantly fewer provisions for border security, something typically considered necessary for any Republican consideration.
