Bill Clinton: Mainstream media went easy on Obama because he’s black — Video

While appearing on Sunday’s edition of “CBS Sunday Morning,” former President Bill Clinton said the mainstream media went easy on Barack Obama because they “liked having the first African American president.”

Clinton was promoting his new book, “The President is Missing,” with author James Patterson, which is set to hit the shelves on Monday.

“You hear from Trump supporters who say, ‘You know, the press slobbered all over President Obama. He could do no wrong. And now this guy can do no right. What gives?’ That there’s a kind of whiplash,” Mo Rocca asked after Clinton claimed the media has been covering the Russia collusion probe based on facts.

“Well, they did treat him differently than other Democrats and Republicans because they,” Clinton began.

“Why?” Rocca asked.

“It was the political press. You know, I don’t know. They liked him, and they liked having the first African American president – and he was a good president, I think,” Clinton said.

But, The American Mirror said, Clinton criticized Obama’s America in 2016 during a rally held in Spokane, Washington:

“She always finds a way to make something good happen, to make people feel empowered, to buy people into the process, to make democracy work the way the framer intended for it to work,” Clinton said.

“Now, if you don’t believe that we can all grow together again, if you don’t believe that we’re ever going to grow again, if you believe it’s more important to relitigate the past, there may be many reasons that you don’t want to support her.

“But if you believe we can all rise together, if you believe we’ve finally come to the point where we can put the awful legacy of the last eight years behind us and the 7 years before that when we were practicing trickle-down economics and no regulation in Washington, which is what caused the crash, then you should vote for her,” Clinton said.
