Biden’s first month: Only half approve of job performance, says Rasmussen

Biden
Looks like the honeymoon is over for Joe Biden.

The honeymoon didn’t last long as Joe Biden’s job approval for his first month in office found only 50 percent of the public giving him a thumb’s up, while 47 percent disapproved of his work, according to the results of a new survey by Rasmussen Reports.

During Donald Trump’s first full month in office, Rasmussen found his job approval rating at 51 percent. For that month, Trump earned an Approval Index rating of -4, Rasmussen said. For Biden, the Approval Index rating is -5.

Naturally, the numbers break down along party lines.

“Among Democrats,” Rasmussen said, “the full-month numbers for February showed Strong Approval of President Biden’s performance from 62%. Just as many Republicans (65%) Strongly Disapproved last month of the job he is doing. This is almost a complete reversal from Trump’s final month. Among voters not affiliated with either major party, 24% Strongly Approved of Biden’s job performance, while 42% Strongly Disapproved, a slightly lower disapproval than Trump received from these voters in his final month.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Another survey has been released, this one by the political science research project Bright Line Watch. According to this poll, “Researchers find just 22 percent Republican respondents have confidence in the integrity of the 2020 election results.” They also are divided by the attempt to impeach Trump a second time.

Biden is likely to get more negative reaction in a state he carried handily last November. Californians are getting riled up thanks to spiking gasoline prices. According to CBS News in Los Angeles, Orange County motorists are finding pain at the pump with the cost per gallon rising above $4 at some locations. The blame lies with refineries switching to “summer blend” gasoline, according to the story.

What will give Biden even more trouble is Tuesday’s announcement by Capitol Hill Democrats that they are launching the long-anticipated gun control crusade promised by the president. As reported by Ammoland News, Democrats are pushing full speed ahead on so-called “universal background checks” and they will plan for “enhanced background checks” to close what they call the “Charleston Loophole.”
