Biden-Harris Regime Claims Grocery Prices Aren’t Skyrocketing… If You Take Out ‘Beef, Pork, And Poultry’ (Video)

The White House is trying to gaslight Americans about inflation.

Americans have noticed that “Bidenflation” has hit everyone right in the wallet. It’s especially noticeable at the gas station and at the grocery store.

A major cause of this is clearly the Biden-Harris administration’s “green” agenda that rolled back Trump’s energy policies that took us from energy exporter to energy-dependent. As we all know, everything that we buy is transported using fossil fuels, so a rise in that will cause an increase in costs that gets passed on down the line.

The White House is trying desperately to draw attention away from that and downplay rising costs while simultaneously shifting the blame.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Par for the course for the Biden-Harris administration.

On Wednesday, National Economic Council Director Brian Deese along with Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack held a press briefing discussing the White House’s plan to tackle the problem of rising meat prices and inflation generally.

Deese made an incredibly out-of-touch comment that is just so typical of this Biden-Harris White House — he said that grocery bills aren’t rising much if you don’t factor in the cost of meat.

“About half of the overall increase in grocery prices can be attributed to a significant increase in prices in three products: in beef, in pork, and in poultry. And in beef and in pork, we’ve seen double-digit increases in prices over the last couple of months,” said Deese, adding, “If you take out those three categories, we’ve actually seen price increases that are more in line with historical norms.”

Seriously, dude?

Meat is a rather significant part of the grocery bills of many Americans.

A healty diet needs to include protein. Beef, pork, and chicken are the main protein choices for the vast majority of Americans.

And before the nutters start — normal people aren’t going to resort to eating bugs. Stop trying to make that happen.

It doesn’t matter if you coat them in chocolate, either.

That kind of thing is going to be a no from me, Chief. And I’m not even sorry.

Deese’s statement is reminiscent of the bizarre tweet that the White House posted a few monts ago saying that Americans could save $0.16 on a 4th of July BBQ.

White House Mocked For Bizarre Tweet Praising $0.16 ‘Savings’ On 4th Of July BBQ

Sixteen whole cents, eh? Fantastic. That’ll top up my 401K.

The Biden-Harris admin is so out-of-touch with average Americans that they don’t even realize how asinine that tweet was.

They posted it wanting praise from the plebs who should be grateful for the crumbs that the elites managed to secure for them.

But it’s not just the completely tone-deaf and living on a different planet thing… they’re gaslighting at the same time.

“You’re paying more at the grocery store? Well, that’s mostly your imagination. It’s your food choices that are the problem,” implies the White House.

Really? Because it looks like there are rising costs to things other than meat.

But they’re not stopping at gaslighting you — they’re also trying to blameshift.

Deese says that the rise in meat prices is in part due to “market consolidation.”

Four companies control much of the U.S. meat processing market, and White House officials blamed those companies for rising food prices.

Deese said 55 to 85 per cent of beef, pork and poultry markets are controlled by four producers.

‘And so when you see that level of consolidation, and the increase in prices, it raises a concern about pandemic profiteering – about companies that are driving price increases in a way that hurts consumers who are going to the grocery store and also isn’t benefiting the actual producers, the farmers and ranchers that growing the product,’ he said.

‘The four top companies in these industries have seen record or near-record profits in the first and second quarter of this year and seen near or approaching record gross margins as well,’ he continued.

Guess what the solution is? Yep. Toss money at it.

As part of a set of initiatives, the administration will funnel $1.4 billion in COVID-19 pandemic stimulus money to small meat producers and workers, administration aides said in the blog post. They also promised action to ‘crack down on illegal price fixing.’

While it’s unconscionable that companies would price-fix during a global pandemic when so many people are struggling to get back on their feet, that isn’t the entire story.

It’s a bit disingenuous to pin the blame on corporations when the Biden-Harris administration’s policies have shown similar price increases in other areas.
