Biden Admin Says Canadian Mining Good For American Miners

The Biden administration is bowing to environmental groups and is planning on not allowing mining of necessary minerals for batteries in the United States. In a move they and the liberal media say is good for American miners, they are working to get these minerals from Canada. This is coming after a meeting between Canadian mining companies and the Biden administration has come to light. Republican Congressmen Paul Gosar (AZ-04) and Bruce Westerman (AR-04) are just two of the members of the House Natural Resources Committee wanting answers from the White House and has sent a letter to there on this topic.

Mining Jobs

There were two specific mines that had gotten bipartisan support recently that now has got the Democrats backing away from. This will allow the copper and tellurium to come from Canada. This will be on top of the cobalt coming from there. This is added into the fact that Canada will be building a cobalt refining facility in the country so that there will be less need for the product coming from the Democratic Republic of Congo. To even go further in all of this, the Canadian mining companies are in talks with the US government Import/Export Bank to secure funding for the mines.

Electric Vehicles

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

All of this mining of minerals is necessary for the creation of electric vehicles. This means that many companies may move production facilities for batteries and vehicles into Canada to cut down on the price of shipping. This could cut down on further jobs in the United States. Many American car manufacturers are moving to have as many of their vehicles be electric and this can mean the need for the minerals will expand. It has members of Congress wondering why they are not working to get the minerals in the United States. The loss of the mines that had previously been agreed upon means those jobs will now dry up.

The Biden administration is moving forward with all its plans to change the shape of the economy. It has people questioning if the loss of high-paying jobs is going to help with their taxation plans. It also will mean that the companies that were going to run those mines will now have to change their plans as well. Members of Congress, almost entirely Republican, are working to get this news in the headlines. There are also questions that need to be answered as to how this is good for American miners, as the administration claims.
