Bad Biden vibes: Only 30% think he is fulfilling campaign promises

Biden
A lot of likely voters don’t think Joe Biden has done very well keeping campaign promises.

Only 30 percent of likely U.S. voters think Joe Biden has kept his campaign promises more than most presidents, while 41 percent say he has kept his promises less than his predecessors, according to a new Rasmussen survey released Wednesday.

Alarmingly for most politicians, only 13 percent of likely voters believe they keep their campaign promises while a whopping 69 percent say they don’t.

The new survey results came on a day when the Rasmussen daily presidential tracking poll finds 48 percent of votes think he is doing a good job while 50 percent say he isn’t. Perhaps more alarming to Biden supporters, “The latest figures include 27% who Strongly Approve of the job Biden is doing and 43% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -16.”

The voter survey was conducted Aug. 4-5 from among 1,000 likely voters. The poll has a +/- 3 percentage point sampling error with a 95 percent level of confidence.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The breakdown along party lines is predictable.

According to Rasmussen, 47 percent of Democrats say Biden has kept his promises more than most presidents, but only 18 percent of Republicans and 22 percent of Independents agree. On the other hand, 60 percent of GOP voters say Biden has kept his promises less than previous presidents, along with 42 percent of Independents and even 23 percent of Democrats.

The survey also revealed that voters under age 40 “are more than twice as likely as older voters to believe most politicians don’t keep their campaign promises.”

Perhaps showing Democrats to be out of touch, or possibly living in an alternate universe, the survey found that 17 percent of Democrats “are more likely than Republicans (11%) or Independents (10%) to believe politicians keep their campaign promises.

Rasmussen goes deeper into the survey with a breakdown.

“Significantly,” Rasmussen reported, “more black voters (23%) than whites (11%) or other minorities (15%) believe most politicians keep their campaign promises, but there is less disagreement on Biden specifically. Thirty-three percent (33%) of black voters, and 30% of both white and other minority voters, say Biden has kept his promises more than most presidents. Forty-two percent (42%) of whites, 36% of black voters and 43% of other minorities believe Biden has kept his campaign promises less than most presidents.”
