AZ Sheriff Tells Citizens to “Travel Armed” After Cartel Threat

Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu issued a warning to the citizens of his county on Monday after intelligence sources said that the cartel’s armed professional assassins called “sicarios”had crossed into the U.S. and were on the hunt for “rip crews.”

“I’m telling our citizens that want to enjoy the outdoors to travel armed and not let these drug cartels think they have any control over American soil.” Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu

“Rip crews” are those who steal drugs from the cartels. The Sheriff is concerned that innocent members of the public or his deputies could be injured or killed.

Danger in Arizona

In a written statement provided to Breitbart Texas,

“We are taking this threat seriously and believe that the public and my deputies deserve to know that there is an elevated risk of encountering gun violence in certain areas of Pinal County. It is a distressing reality that President Obama is unwilling to protect the public from armed incursions across the border and well into Arizona. We have been fighting the Sinaloa Cartel violence in Arizona for years. We’ve arrested 21 of their scouts and many more smugglers last year, we are seizing thousands of pounds of their drugs and yet Obama’s response is to erect signs that warn American citizens that it is not safe to travel.” Sheriff Paul Babeu

The Mexican cartels have traversed Pinal County  for some time. Though AZCentral claims that the news is totally political, the fact is that sicarios are very real. Tim Gaffney, deputy chief of administration at PSCO revealed an incident that occurred in their county.

Incidents are real

Several days later, [Tim] Gaffney wrote, the Border Patrol and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Vekol Valley west of Casa Grande where a member of a rip crew reportedly was shot while stealing a drug load.

In an incident Monday south of Arizona City on the Tohono O’odham Nation, Gaffney said the Border Patrol received a call for medical help for a person who was shot in a gunfight.

“During interviews it was confirmed that the cartel has hired sicarios — ‘hit men’ — to come and eliminate rip crews in the area,” Gaffney wrote. “These sicario crews have been advised to shoot and kill rip crews on sight.”

So if you are in Pinal County, Arizona, be armed this Memorial Day weekend.
