Austin Tong Banned From Fordham U for Instagram Post of AR
Fordham University student Austin Tong, 21, posted a picture of his new AR-15 that he bought for self defense. He posted it on the anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre. When the “Outrage mob” began threatening him and calling on the University to kick him out, he refused to back down. Now he has been banned from campus and must finish his degree online.
The school accused Austin of the typical liberal narrative that he has an “automatic weapon.” The school charged him with a hate crime, disorderly conduct, threats, and intimidation. None of those things are the truth.
National Review reported,
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
“A Fordham University student is threatening to sue the university after it placed him on disciplinary probation for Instagram posts commemorating the Tiananmen Square Massacre and memorializing a black retired police officer killed during a riot in St. Louis, Mo., last month.
Fordham found that rising senior Austin Tong’s posts violated its policies on “bias and/or hate crimes” and “threats/intimidation.” The probation restricts his access to campus, forcing him to finish his degree online, and bars him from participating in extracurricular activities. The university also ordered Tong to complete implicit bias training and to write a letter of apology.”
Here are the two posts in question:

Austin Tong posted the picture of David Dorn with just the remark “Y’all a bunch of hypocrites.” He wrote that to express his frustration with the Black Lives Matter rioters who killed Mr. Dorn. The school didn’t get it, and therefore ruled that Austin needed “implicit bias training.” They ASSUMED that he was prejudiced based on the picture.
When he wrote “Don’t tread on me” under his AR post, it placed him squarely in the sights of liberals who are scared spitless of anyone with a gun or that has Conservative views. The University sent Public Safety officers to his home at midnight after he posted it, according to the Epoch Times. So they say the mere photo was “threatening” people even though no such threat was made. We’ve seen this before in similar cases.
“While what happened to me is a total disgrace, I hope to use my example as an opportunity for the millions of people out there that fear to freely speak, and to protest the serious case of speech censorship in college campuses. As the country is facing a disastrous constitutional crisis, it is no time to stay silent, and we have been silent for way too long. It only takes the courage of the few to spark the patriotism of many. We will use this opportunity to let the world know that now is the time that we must speak loudly, fight for our rights, and let those who silence speech know they will face consequences.” Austin Tong
Here is Austin’s powerful message to America:
This is @realAustinTong. He was charged with a hate crime by his school, @FordhamNYC, for posting a photo of his new AR-15.@FordhamNYC accused him of owning an “automatic weapon” and they’re trying to silence him, but this @NRA member is not backing down.

Austin is an articulate young man who is studying for a Business degree. He is now planning to sue the University for their actions, and has even started a GoFundMe to pay for the litigation. He emigrated to the U.S from China.
“When Tong immigrated to the United States from China at six years old, his family sought to ensure that he would be protected by the rights guaranteed by their new home, including the freedom of speech and the right to bear arms. Here, however, Fordham has acted more like the Chinese government than an American university, placing severe sanctions on a student solely because of off-campus political speech.” FIRE Program Officer Lindsie Rank
FIRE, the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, has rated Fordham University as the worst for Freedom of Speech. Last year, a state court ruled that the University violated its own rules for freedom of expression in a case involving a Palestinian student group.
Fordham University is a Jesuit College that openly promises that it promotes freedom of “inquiry.” According to its own mission statement:
“Fordham strives for excellence in research and teaching and guarantees the freedom of inquiry required by rigorous thinking and the quest for truth.”
That statement should now be fully trashed. Fight on, Austin. Never give up, never give in!
