Attempted MURDER! Package Containing Deadly Poison Ricin Addressed to Trump Intercepted By Secret Service

On Saturday, news broke that a package containing the deadly poison ricin addressed to President Trump was intercepted by the Secret Service earlier this week.

According to the New York Times, an official said the letter appeared to have been sent from Canada. The Times said that letters containing the poison were also sent to federal offices in Texas.

The Times also noted:

The letter to the White House, which was addressed to President Trump, was intercepted, as were the letters to the federal offices in Texas. It was not immediately clear on Saturday which federal offices were targeted.

The envelope to the White House was caught at the final offsite processing facility where mail is screened before being sent to the White House mail room, according to a second law enforcement official. The Postal Service irradiates mail that is addressed to the White House and other federal agencies in the Washington area, and the mail is sorted in a facility that samples the air for suspicious substances.

“The FBI and our U.S. Secret Service and U.S. Postal Inspection Service partners are investigating a suspicious letter received at a U.S. government mail facility. At this time, there is no known threat to public safety,” the Washington field office of the FBI told the Washington Examiner.

This isn’t the first time the substance has been intercepted, Breitbart noted:

An attempt to mail ricin to President Trump was also intercepted in October 2018.

William Clyde Allen, a former Naval officer was arrested by the FBI for mailing ricin filled letters to Secretary of Defense James Mattis, Chief of Naval Operations Adm. John Richardson, and FBI Director Chris Wray.
