Ashley Biden’s Diary – FBI Agents Raid Project Veritas

Project Veritas Founder James O’Keefe is furious and with good reason. FBI agents raided the homes of some of his associates supposedly looking for evidence that Ashley Biden’s Diary was stolen. O’Keefe stated the news outlet turned over her diary to law enforcement some time ago because the contents could not be verified. The agents had subpoenas stemming from a Grand Jury investigation. The DOJ “requested” that Project Veritas not reveal the existence of the subpoena or the investigation… but someone leaked it to the New York Times, which Project Veritas is suing for defamation.

“I woke to the news that apartments and homes of Project Veritas journalists, or former journalists, had been raided by FBI agents. It appears the Southern District of New York now has journalists in their sights for the supposed crime of doing their jobs lawfully and honestly, or at least this journalist.”

Within an hour of the raid, the New York Times contacted one of the journalists for comment over the alleged theft of Ashley Biden’s diary. WITHIN AN HOUR. Grand Jury investigations are supposed to be secret- yet someone leaked this one to the New York Times. That the FBI raided journalists in order to seize their notebooks is alarming for the Freedom of the Press.

We do not know how the New York Times was aware of the execution of a search warrant at our reporter’s home or the subject matter of the search warrant as a grand jury investigation is secret. The FBI took materials of current, former Project Veritas journalists despite the fact that our legal team previously contacted the Department of Justice and voluntarily conveyed unassailable facts that demonstrate Project Veritas’ lack of involvement in criminal activity, and or criminal intent…

Our efforts were the stuff of responsible ethical journalism, and we are in no doubt that Project Veritas acted properly at each and every step.

Ashley Biden’s Diary

Someone that O’Keefe referred to as a “tipster” contacted Project Veritas after they said Ashley Biden’s Diary was allegedly left in a hotel room by her. That person was trying to sell the diary to news media, and had attorneys that were negotiating the possible sale. Project Veritas did not publish the contents of the diary because it could not independently verify its contents, so they turned it over to law enforcement to have it returned to the owner. One conservative outlet did publish the information and claimed they did verify it., which leaves the whole situation up in the air (the outlet was not named).

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

If the diary was indeed accidentally left by Ashley Biden, that is not a crime. Actually stealing it would be a petit theft. Neither of those two things warranted a Grand Jury or the FBI raiding the homes of two journalists.

A journalist cannot be criminally prosecuted for publishing stolen material unless the journalist himself or herself is involved in the theft. There’s no indication of that. And the same is true of leaked classified information. Journalists have never been prosecuted for that, although the leakers have when they’re identified. So we don’t know a whole lot about this story, but it’s deeply troubling. They would barge into the homes of two journalists armed with a search warrant signed off by a federal judge and the Department of Justice, presided over by Joe Biden, this smacks of a political investigation and potential prosecution
