AP Describes How Biden Was Having ‘Non-Public Day’

After President Biden’s car wreck interview with George Stephanopoulos, in which, as usual, he stuttered and stumbled while trying to express his thoughts, his schedulers canceled all events where he might face a question.

The interview, in which Biden faced questions about his catastrophic failure in which Afghanistan was taken over by the Taliban and its Shariah-agenda executions for Christians, featured his dismissal of the horrific images of people falling from airplanes in flight as old news, something that happened “four or five days” ago – it was actually only two.

Becket Adams, in a Washington Examiner commentary, said the president “casually dismissed questions” about the human tragedies that have developed.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos brought up the “hundreds of people packed into a C-17, we’ve seen Afghans falling. …”

“That was four days ago! Five days ago!” Biden incorrectly claimed.

Adams wondered: “First, so what if it was? What does this have to do with the fact Afghans are literally dying to escape Taliban rule? What does this have to do with the fact thousands of frantic U.S. nationals and Afghan allies are scrambling to evacuate as the Taliban consolidates control? They’re scrambling, by the way, because the Biden administration had the bright idea to shutter Bagram Airfield, evacuate U.S. military before civilians and allies, and designate an international airport surrounded by the Taliban as the sole evacuation point for the entire country.”

Now Fox is reporting that, “In what appears to be a continuation of his campaign bunker strategy, and following his widely panned interview with ABC News on the stunning fall of Afghanistan, President Biden’s schedule Thursday contained no planned public remarks or press briefings.”

“The president took all public remarks, press briefings and press conferences off his schedule as he and his administration deal with the blowback from their botched troop withdrawal that saw Kabul fall into the hands of the Taliban.”

Twitchy commentary explained how the AP reported on the abrupt changes.

Reporter Darlene Superville said, “@POTUS is having a non-public day. WH says he’ll meet with his national security team on Afghanistan, receive an update on the COVID-19 response, and engage with members of Congress regarding his Build Back Better agenda…”

Whose statement immediately drew snarky comments such as, “Is this a paid vacation?” “Will there be ice cream,” and “might as well be golfing right.”

Twitchy commented, “What do you want? He flew back from vacation to deliver a 20-minute speech on Afghanistan Monday, returned to Camp David that night, and flew back Tuesday evening to prep for his interview with George Stephanopoulos. He’s been sort of public.”

And Terry Benzie added, “If people want a president capable of working each day or appearing in public more than 1-2x per week or answering non-scripted questions then vote for them in elections.”

One commenter, insulting, wrote, “Nap time for grandpa.”

Fox pointed out except for the Stephanopoulos interview, Biden has not taken questions from the press this week.

The report explained, “Biden’s decision to bunker down amid the Afghanistan crisis evokes his strategy during the 2020 presidential race, when he spent a large amount of time away from the campaign trail. When asked if the president believes that his campaign strategy of ducking out of the public eye is translating well to his official duties and if his strategy sent a message of American strength to our allies and adversaries, a White House official pointed to Biden’s ABC News interview and press briefings by the Pentagon and State Department.”

At the same time, White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki was criticized by former White House spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany for not answering questions.

McEnany, now with “Outnumbered,” ripped the administration for its lack of transparency throughout the Afghanistan fiasco.

“Jen Psaki promised us a daily White House press briefing,” McEnany said Thursday. “There isn’t one today. There wasn’t one Monday. When the going gets tough, the daily press briefing that she promised goes out the window.”

Biden’s stumbling was especially evidence in his responses to Stephanopoulos

See an excerpt of the ABC interview:

When Stephanopoulos noted that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said such a disaster was predicted, Biden’s response was, “What – what did he say was predicted?”

So what failed, Mr. President? Stephanopoulos asked.

“Look, I don’t think it was a fa — look, it was a simple choice, George. When the — when the Taliban — let me back — put it another way. When you had the government of Afghanistan, the leader of that government get in a plane and taking off and going to another country, when you saw the significant collapse of the ta– of the– Afghan troops we had trained — up to 300,000 of them just leaving their equipment and taking off, that was — you know, I’m not– this — that — that’s what happened.”

Biden also incorrectly claimed no one’s being killed right now, as the death toll mounted to at least 12.

Stephanopoulos asked if the nation should “accept the idea” that an exit ” was gonna be messy no matter what.”

Biden asked, “What would be messy?”
