Alleged comedian attacks Sarah Huckabee Sanders at White House Correspondent’s Dinner, gets slammed

On Saturday, members of the White House Press Corps held their annual Correspondent’s Dinner.  President Trump did not attend the event, choosing instead to hold a rally in Michigan, but White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders did.  While there, she was subjected to some of the most obnoxious attacks by alleged comedian Michelle Wolf.

Wolf began: “I love you as Aunt Lydia in The Handmaid’s Tale.

It only got worse from there.

According to USA Today:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

“I actually really like Sarah. I think she’s very resourceful,” Wolf said, setting up her next jab. “She burns facts and then she uses that ash to create a perfect smoky eye. Maybe she’s born with it, maybe it’s lies. It’s probably lies.”

“I’m never really sure what to call Sarah Huckabee Sanders,” Wolf continued. “Is it Sarah Sanders? Is it Sarah Huckabee Sanders? Is it Cousin Huckabee? Is it Auntie Huckabee Sanders? Like, what’s Uncle Tom but for white women who disappoint other white women?”

Kellyanne Conway and Ivanka Trump were also targeted:

Targeting Kellyanne Conway, Wolf said, “Man, she has the perfect last name for what she does: Conway.”

Ivanka Trump didn’t escape Wolf’s gaze either. “She was supposed to be an advocate for women,” Wolf said. “But it turns out, she’s about as helpful to women as an empty box of tampons.”

Here’s a video of her comments:

Wolf’s attacks, Twitchy said, were even too much for some in the so-called “mainstream media.”

The New York Times’ Maggie Haberman noted:

While Huckabee Sanders did not walk out, other members of the Trump administration did, Politico said:

Members of the Trump administration walked out of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner Saturday night after comedian Michelle Wolf ripped into White House staffers including press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders in the absence of the president himself.

A year after the White House boycotted the annual dinner — and with President Donald Trump holding a competing campaign-style rally in Michigan — director of strategic communications Mercedes Schlapp and her husband, conservative activist Matt Schlapp, marched out of the ballroom at the Washington Hilton long before Wolff’s keynote routine was over…”

Other mainstream journalists were also highly critical of Wolf’s performance:

But, Mike Cernovich said, “journalists” in the room enjoyed her over-the-top comments:

Wolf, naturally, played the victim card:

At least five steps…

It seems the president was right to boycott this event…
