The education level of a couple of Air National Guard members appears to be less than ideal. First, we learned of Jack Douglas Teixeira, 21, the one who allegedly leaked classified documents to a bunch of gamers. Now we have Josiah Ernesto Garcia, 21, who is accused of signing up online to become a hitman. Why? Because he needed money and wanted to put his military training into practice. Thinking properly is apparently not the strong suit for either of them.
The Leaker
Jack Teixeira (pronounced tee-sherra) was assigned to the 102nd Intelligence Wing at Otis Air National Guard Base. He enlisted in the National Guard in 2019 and received an Air Force Achievement Medal in 2022. He was a Cyber Transport Systems Journeyman. (ABC) Being in possession of such sensitive information shared with “Discord” gamers is a conundrum, considering the government couldn’t even find the Supreme Court leaker from the Roe v Wade debacle. He had a top secret clearance and access to other secret documents. Not sure who is more stupid, the government who gave him a clearance or the leaker.
It was described as one of the worse leaks of intelligence information in decades. For gamers arguing about the war in Ukraine. And of course, whatever the actual background of that investigation might be, Mr. Teixeira is going way for some time.

Wanna-be hitman
Enter Josiah Garcia. He also was 21 and not prone to think things through. He was in need of funds for his yet-to-be-born baby in order to find a way to utilize his military experience. He stumbled upon a website called “Rent-a-Hitman” and submitted an application. What he didn’t see was that it was a parody site – the original one was for a cyber security startup in 2005 that failed.
On Feb. 16, 2023, Garcia submitted an inquiry expressing his interest in working as a hitman, the complaint says.
The website’s owner, using an alias, responded and asked Garcia to provide a résumé, head shot and photo of his ID — so Garcia did, according to the complaint.
On his résumé, Garcia said he was nicknamed “Reaper” for his “military experience and marksmanship,” the complaint says.
He sent three follow-up emails to the website’s owner when he didn’t hear back, according to investigators.
On March 16, the FBI directed the website’s owner to email Garcia saying a “field coordinator” would contact him soon, the complaint says.
Then, an FBI agent pretending to be a job recruiter scheduled an interview with Garcia, who told them he’d kill an individual for “as little” as $2,500, according to the complaint.
He also said he was comfortable with torturing someone and “taking fingers or ears as trophies” if requested by a client, the complaint says.
When asked why he was interested in the hitman job, Garcia said since he was in the military, he was “doing that sort of work already,” the complaint shows.” Stripes
The FBI agent did try to talk the kid out of his plans, but of course by then Garcia was on a roll and really wanted to be a hitman. Now he is charged with the use of interstate facilities in the commission of murder-for-hire. Federal offense with a 10 year possible penalty. That will help that new baby, don’t you think?
