The city of Kabul was reportedly surrounded by the Taliban last night, but Fox reports that they have entered the city today. Ashraf Ghani, the Afghan President fled the country… a US official stated, “That’s it, it’s over.” The 82nd Airborne was to be sent to help Marines and Army battalions with the evacuation. Desperation has shrouded this debacle, with hundreds of thousands of people trying to flee.

Meanwhile, China says it is preparing to recognize the Taliban when it takes over. Typical of China, grab the bad guys and make sure they stay in power. Secretary of State Blinken stated that this is not a Saigon moment for Biden because he claims we accomplished what we set out to do with regard to removal of those who attacked us on 9-11-2001. He said that staying around wasn’t feasible nor in the national interest. That sounds vaguely familiar, and typical of politicians running a war.

The 82nd Airborne Division’s alert brigade will send 1,000 paratroopers to Kabul next week to reach the White House’s goal of 5,000 troops in the city to protect the evacuation of U.S. personnel, Fox News’ Lucas Tomlinson reports.
There were already 1,000 U.S. service members on the ground, according to defense officials. Another 3,000 Marines and soldiers will be in place by the end of the week.
Commercial flights from Afghanistan were booked solid, and the US government was ‘trying to find an answer’ for the remaining people. European partners were also evacuating their diplomats by transport. Italy already transferred 228 Afghans who helped them to their country. The UK ambassador is to be taken out by transport on Monday. Germany is sending transports to help as well. It’s a mad dash to get out from all of our former partners. The Taliban took nearly all of Afghanistan in a little over a week. Somebody’s “assessments” were a bit off.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
Peaceful transition to the Taliban? Not likely.
The US wanted to pretend they could get a political solution from the Taliban. That was delusional. If there were really hope for a political solution, this whole mess would not have happened, since they were in talks previously. But as we said then, negotiating with a rattlesnake is never a good idea. They will always bite you. They have demanded an unconditional surrender from the Afghan government as they entered Kabul on Sunday- what’s left of it. When the Afghan President fled the country, there wasn’t much left and no negotiating strength at all.
Fears of Taliban beheadings and executions are rampant in Afghanistan – people accosted ATMs to remove their life savings as they scrambled for the exit, according to the Military Times. The Taliban will not be peaceful in their takeover – they haven’t up to this point, and won’t from this point onward, no matter what their rhetoric.

SecDef Lloyd Austin and Gen Mark Milley were to brief officials on the situation at 9:45 EDT today. From the Vietnam War forward, the penchant to not win has cost trillions of taxpayer dollars and countless American lives…not to mention the lives of the people we supposedly went there to help. We can have impressive military exercises, important technology, but if we never WIN a war because of political maneuvering, it’s all for nothing.
The US is struggling for its very survival against Marxist/communists on every front here at home. The woke military can’t or won’t help us in that fight. Our so-called President is a shell, a dementia-ridden marionette with strings held by the radical left Marxists. He has single-handedly destroyed the United States in just six months. And now it appears, he has added Afghanistan’s 20 year progress to the trash heap.
