Abolish Ice Debate Rages: Schumer, Gillibrand, other Dems on the Bandwagon

It’s hard to imagine what it would be like with an army of  Democrats and leftists screaming for the country to abolish your job. No, not just President Trump. With the Democrats’ push to abolish ICE, (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) that is exactly what’s happening. The idea used to be just from extreme left wingers, but now Sen. Chuck Schumer, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, and several others have picked up the torch.

The problem with liberals is the lack of foresight. They run on emotion rather than truth- which always causes problems. ICE does far more than “deport” people, or “separate families,” which is the emotional argument being used against them. Are there abuses? Probably yes, as in any job, including Congress. But all in all, they stand to protect America and enforce the laws.

The new Socialist Democrat who won the recent New York Democratic primary, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, is one who has been shouting for ICE to be abolished. Now Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, as well as New York Mayor Bill De Blasio and other Dems have also hopped on the bandwagon. But they are all short-sighted, emotional fools who have focused on one aspect of the ICE job tasks and ignored the others.

Fox reported,

“I believe that [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] has become a deportation force … and that’s why I believe you should get rid of it, start over, reimagine it and build something that actually works,” Gillibrand said in a CNN interview Thursday night.

“We should abolish ICE,” de Blasio said Friday morning on WNYC radio. His Democratic colleague in Albany, Gov. Andrew Cuomo, is also facing pressure to back such calls after primary challenger Cynthia NIxon has called ICE a terrorist organization.

Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif has said that the U.S. should consider “starting from scratch” while Rep. Mark Pocan, D-Wis., announced Monday that he would be introducing a bill to abolish the agency.

So what does ICE actually do? (Besides “rip babies from their mothers” according to Democrats).

They are charged with enforcing over 400 federal laws. Some of those laws have to do with human trafficking and child sexual exploitation, as well as combating child pornography. Some are about repatriation of cultural treasures that have been stolen from foreign countries. Then there’s the counterfeit merchandise trade. They also work to stop Female Genital mutilation (FGM) (do these Democrats want that?).  ICE works to prevent the illegal exportation of our technology. They, along with other agencies, work hard to find terrorists, or people who are criminals that have intent to harm Americans.

The “abolish ICE”  movement is another left-wing tactic designed to draw America closer to anarchy. The Dem’s definition of reimagining ICE would be to make it a giant baby-sitter group  at a time when we need strength to protect our citizens.

“Based on the last week, Democrats apparently want to campaign on open borders, mass migration, & abolishing ICE. Give them points for honesty. Let’s vote.” Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark
