ABC falsely claims Paul Manafort pleads guilty to five counts of manslaughter, apologizes, gets slammed for fake news

On Wednesday, ABC News posted a graphic that falsely claimed former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort had pleaded guilty to five counts of manslaughter.  The error took place as the network broke to cover President Trump’s latest comments on immigration, Newsbusters said.

The chyron at the bottom of the screen read, “Manafort Pleads Guilty to 5 Charges of Manslaughter” and remained live for about seven seconds.

Mediaite said that it was “weird why the chyron error was so specific…”

Of course, Manafort did not plead guilty to manslaughter and ABC News apologized for the error without providing any specifics.

As for the first question, yours truly can give some insight — someone entered it into the system…

Naturally, Trump slammed the network for its fake news:

Trump-haters, like Michigan congressional candidate Ryan Hill, used the fake news to attack the president:

The error, by the way, took place on the same day that Rush Limbaugh warned that hysterical “reporting” from the Trump-hating propaganda machine known here as the Democrat-media complex is going to get someone killed.

“Okay, folks, I’m just gonna say it here. If the media keeps this up — if they keep up generating this hysteria — somebody’s gonna get killed,” he said. “I think we’re pretty close to somebody getting killed already, and I’m not being hyperbolic, and I’m not trying to call attention to myself. I’m genuinely worried about the out-of-control aspect of this. The news media’s fanning the flames. The news media is leading the way on this. It’s again an oxymoron. News media? There is no media, and none of this is news.”

Here’s video of the error:
