This is something I NEVER wanted to write as I do NOT have time to engage in a tit for tat with Scott Rohter…a man who has now crossed the legal line into slander and defamation of character against NOT only me but against Joe Newby, Tim Selaty, Tom Harrison, and Dean Chambers as well…for you can say what you want about an elected official but NOT about private citizens.
As most of you know I was thrown off the Facebook alternative site WePlurbUs by its admin Scott Rohter because I would NOT give in to extortion. This man demanded money from me to keep his, what I was told when I joined was a free site up and running.
I joined that site while I was in Facebook jail for 30 days to be able to continue to get our conservative message out. I only posted one post a day 5 days a week (if even that much) as WePlurbUs doesn’t allow multiple blog postings a day. And there was always timing issues with my posting, and when I asked Scott why was told it was to keep trolls and spammers off. Well you guys know I am NO troll or spammer and so did he.
That was my sole complaint about his site…the timing of posts issue.
All went well until mid-May when Scott approached me via e-mail demanding,…YES demanding… money to use his site, and I told him I will NOT pay to post one post a day (and NOT even every day) on anybody’s site. I then told him I would leave his site and I wished him well.
Below is some of the correspondence between him and I.
This was his first message to me:
“There are going to be some changes around here soon Diane.. I need to ask you to go to my Home Page and answer the poll about the future funding of this site.. I need you to pledge to contribute as much as you can afford to keep the site live.. RSVP People who do not want to pay anything at all will not be allowed to free ride anymore.. People who contribute something will have their accounts upgraded to contributing members which will give you certain privileges such as input… Answer the poll on my Home Page.. I am not going to foot the bill for everyone any longer on my own.. we have amassed about 380 dollars a year so far towards the yearly cost of a server. That is 600 for a cheap Virtual Private Server or 1200 a year towards a better designated managed server. As one of the people who get the most benefit from this site I expect you to pay something.. Let me know by your answer in the poll on my Home Page.”
Now at this time WePlurbUs had about 1500 members who were expected to pay something…a minimum of $25 each if I remember correctly. That’s $25 each X 1500 = $37,500 taken in to run a site that his e-mail to me flat out said cost him at the most $1200 per year to run.
So what was to become of the left over $36,300…hmmmmmm….just wondering NOT accusing.
Below is the next e-mail he sent me when I said I would NOT pay him one dime and that I would leave his site:
“So then you think that I should pay for you to promote your blog… I am not going to pay this by myself.. What is wrong with expecting people who use a service to pay for it… You see what you get with f-book… jack shxxt!!! YOU KNOW THAT AND YOU SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM PAYING FOR WHAT YOU USE.. THE ALTERNATIVE IS THAT I SHOULD PAY FOR YOU TO USE.. AND I AM NOT GOING TO ANYMORE.. YOU ARE ALL ABOUT YOURSELF DIANE SORI AND IF YOU DONT WANT TO PAY FOR WHAT YOU USE THAN YOU CAN GO BACK TO FBOOK AND THE TPC WHICH IS ALL ABOUIT TIM SELATY MAKING MONEY FOR TIM SELATY. CHOSE AND LET ME KNOW.. I AM NOT BENDING OVER TO PLEASE YOU ANYMORE DIANE. YOUR COMPLAINTS AND YOUR UNWILLINGNESS TO HELP OUT AND NOT TO EVEN PAY FOR WHAT YOU DO IS JUST TOO MUCH.. IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO PAY TO KEEP THIS SITE LIVE SO YOU CAN PROMOTE YOUR OWN BLOG THAT I WILL BE HAPPY TO DELETE YOU.. PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP”
As you can see his attacks on me started immediately along with his attacking Tim Selaty (who I NEVER mentioned in my e-mails to him), the owner and admin of Tea Party Community (TPC), another alternative to fb site.
As to his accusations, first, I NEVER promote my blog anywhere…I ask for NO money to run it…I run NO ads to support it…NOTHING…I do it all on my own as it’s MY blog and no one else’s. I do post one Op-ed once a day on certain fb and alternate sites that have welcomed me to do so, and have NEVER been asked by any of them to stop. I have a reputation as someone of credibility and honesty..someone who writes based on facts, and I have NEVER in any of my Op-eds attacked anyone, including Obama, on a personal level.
As soon as I said I would NOT pay up I was booted from WePlurbUs (wasn’t even given 5 minutes to leave on my own), and Scott immediately started posting lies about me on different fb sites and on WePlurbus. How do I know this since I was thrown off and blocked from WePlurPlurbUs and his Facebook sites also…I know this because people have been messaging me NOT only telling me what he’s saying about me but also sending me what he’s been saying, and below is one of his comments.
And BTW, the only reason I’m being attacked by Scott is because my name and comments were reported on in a story that ran in ‘The Examiner’ for I have NOT slammed him anywhere on any sites…that is until now for he crossed the legal line into slander and defamation of character.
“Diane Sorri epitomizes what is wrong with America. My first impression of her is the same one that I have of her now. She only does things that will directly benefit her in some way. She always has herself first and foremost in mind. Because Joe Newby is her friend I knew that she had already been speaking to him about what happened to her on WePluribus, and I already knew that is why Joe hadn’t been participating on WePluribUS in over a month since I deleted her account. He lied to me and told me that he didn’t have enough time… But I found him three days in a row posting all over Facebook. He lied to me.”
For those who know me personally, on Facebook, and on the alternative venues EVERYTHING I DO is for love of this country and to try to help set it right again. NOTHING I do is for personal benefit as I ask NOTHING in return for what I do.
And until now I have NOT countered Scott’s accusations, deeming him a waste of my time and energy, but when I saw that he posted ‘Diane Sorri epitomizes what is wrong with America’ that really got under my skin because I work so hard to help save our country from those out to destroy her. I have always said and posted that we are ALL in this battle for our country together, and I have NEVER made this battle about me…EVER.
And Scott continues to attack me. Late yesterday he posted this…just one of three posts in which he yet again called me a liar...
“It looks like you are losing the numbers game Joe Newby. No one believes your lies except your little cabal of loyalists… And since you started this.. I WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT I AM NOT DONE JOE. I WILL NOT REST UNTIL PEOPLE KNOW THE TRUTH ABOUT YOU… WHAT AN UNETHICIAL MAN YOU ARE, AND TOM HARRISON, AND TIM SELATY, AND DEAN CHAMBERS TOO. WHAT LIARS YOU ALL ARE INCLUDING DIANE SORRI. I will be watching you from now on Joe Newby.”
Sounds like a threat and a bit of stalking doesn’t it.
And I say this to Scott…
“Hey Scott, you want a piece of me at least spell my name right…it’s DIANE SORI…NOT Sorri or Sorre or any of the other ways you’re misspelled it in your attacks on me…and Scott how can I be a liar when I have the e-mails you sent me saved…ALL your e-mails demanding money from me…ALL corroborating what I’m saying.”
“And accusing me of trying to destroy your site…I have done NOTHING to destroy your site nor would I ever try to destroy your or anybody’s site. (“…I hope WePluribUS will still be around when they do… but with you and Joe Newby, and Diane Sorri, and Dean Chambers, and Tom Harrison of Oregon City Oregon the Oregon Republican Party State webmaster doing about everything you can to destroy it… I dunno if it will survive…”)”
“I have done NOTHING…once you threw me off I said good riddance and continued on with what I do…report the truth on a president and an administration run amok. I could care less about you or your site and would NOT waste any of my time or energy knocking it…and notice in all this I have NOT said one bad word about WePlurbUs or attacked you on a personal level.”
“Oh and by the way Scott, suddenly now putting postings on WePlurbUs relating to you now just ‘requesting’ money to run your site means NOTHING because your demanding money from me in e-mails are all dated BEFORE what you’re putting up now as you try to cover your tracks”.
So silent I will NO longer be, and NOT just for me but for the many others who have had the misfortune of having had dealings with this man…and for Joe Newby, Tim Selaty, Dean Chambers, and Tom Harrison…all who have been lied about, slandered, and defamed by a man who tried to extort money from me (and others).
