74% of Americans Say Inflation is Erasing All Their Gains on Eve of Labor Day

As Labor Day approaches, 74 percent of Americans say that Bidenflation is erasing all their financial gains.

The information comes from financial site WalletHub which found that most Americans are not doing well this Labor Day only two months ahead of the 2024 Election for president.

In its 2024 Labor Day Survey, WalletHub found the following:

  • Inflation frustration: 74% of people think inflation is erasing their hard work.
  • Impact of inflation: Nearly 2 in 3 Americans say inflation is affecting their Labor Day plans.
  • Working harder for the money: 67% of people believe they’re working harder this year than last year.
  • Trying to make ends meet: 93% of people want a raise to keep up with inflation.
  • Labor Day deals: 66% of Americans think Labor Day sales offer good deals.
  • Meanwhile the costs of Labor Day cookouts is higher on consumers than it was in 2023.

According to ConsumerAffairs, the cost of the last big cookout day of the year are up over last year.

The website reports that the costs of food and supplies for the Labor Day BBQ is up 1.38 percent over all

…an itemized list shows some wide variations. The price of 1.33 pounds of ground chuck burgers is 9.20% more than in 2023. Even switching to hot dogs won’t help a lot, since the price of 16 beef hot dogs is 7.67% higher than last year.

Condiments show a huge variation in price. Mayonnaise costs nearly 15% less than last year while sweet relish, a 12.7 oz. bottle, costs 21.61% more.
