Two Campaign Workers For Ilhan Omar’s GOP Opponent Shot, One Fatally

How’s that ‘defunding of the police’ working out?

Is it just a coincidence that these two victims were backing a candidate?

The short answer is, we don’t know yet.

But we can be sure that if the candidates were Democrats, elected Leftists and their Media accomplices would waste no time making those accusations.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Little is yet known about the assailant or the motives of this attack, but it fits within a pattern of escalating violence of the exact sort most of us predicted would happen as a direct result of slashing police resources.

We remind you that Ilhan Omar herself doesn’t merely support slashing support of the police across the country, but she called for the absolute abolition of local law enforcement. To be replaced by … what, exactly?

So, even if these attacks are not motivated by some politically motivated bad actor who would gladly murder someone in an effort to shift political outcomes, these attacks have been part of a growing trend of unchecked violence that came as a direct result of policies stemming from her side’s antipathy to law enforcement.

A teen killed in a north Minneapolis shooting Monday was an outreach coordinator for a Republican congressional campaign.

Minneapolis police say the 17-year-old male victim died at the scene of the shooting on Fremont Avenue North. Another man was also shot but was hospitalized with non-life-threatening wounds.

Both were members of the campaign team of Lacy Johnson, who is challenging Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar.

Johnson said he was saddened by the incident.

“It is shocking and unnecessary acts of violence like this that prove why change is needed now more than ever in our community,” he said. “The shooting did not occur during a campaign or outreach and we do not believe it has any connection to their work for the campaign.”

Meanwhile, even Minneapolis is starting to wring its hands about the consequences of their push to abolish the police force.

If only somebody could have predicted this outcome.

Three months after voting to dismantle the Minneapolis police department, city council members there spent much of a business meeting on Tuesday complaining about an uptick in violent crime across the city.

Several city council members told police chief Medaria Arradondo at the meeting that their constituents were concerned about increased criminal activity.

City council members Lisa Bender, Steve Fletcher and Andrew Johnson led off the two-hour meeting with questions about the crime wave.

…Fletcher told Arradondo during the city council meeting Tuesday that constituents told him that rank-and-file police officers were “not doing anything to prevent robberies” in a neighborhood called Marcy Holmes. He also decried “a significant increase in extremely dangerous and reckless driving.”

“I’d love to know a little more about what the robbery suppression work is and what are we doing what’s been sort of a pattern in Marcy over the past six weeks?” Fletcher asked Arradondo.

…Bender, the president of the city council, also told Arradondo Tuesday that constituents have said that police officers “are not enforcing crime.”

…“I would appreciate some more information on how we’re addressing the carjackings. There have been a number of them in the community, and they’ve really terrorized residents,” said Johnson.

“How do we stop it?” he asked. “Because it seems like a huge problem and it’s something we absolutely want to stop and it also seems very difficult to stop.”

He lamented that the police department has a “no chase policy.”

In most areas of life, outcomes can be directly traced back to particular inputs.

The ‘outcome’ of this crime wave sweeping Minneapolis had a cause. Is anyone in the city ready to admit what that cause really was?
